Hi everybody. How are you? I hope you're okay. I'm fine too. I want to tell you about a museum I've been to. I visited Fatahillah Museum. This museum is called by the name of the Jakarta museum. I will not review the history of this place. I will review this museum in terms of design and architecture. Because, for me this is very interesting. This building which is a legacy of Dutch colonialism is always interesting. There are no exceptions.

The building is located in the tourist area of the old town. To be precise, at Jalan Taman Fatahillah No. 1 City of West Jakarta, Indonesia. When the Dutch colonized Indonesia, in 1707, this place was made the center of the city with various functions. So, the design and architecture of this place shows a luxurious design and is different from other buildings in Jakarta. There is a design collaboration in this place as a sign that the town hall should be really beautiful and modern.

This building is very unique for its shape and structure. In fact, it needs to be preserved as history and as a sign of architectural progress in Indonesia. In fact, the building at the Fatahillah Museum shows the development of modern architectural design in Indonesia. Admit it or not, if the architecture brings European influence on Indonesian soil. From the information I read, this museum is very similar to the Dan Palace. Until now, the building gives a modern impression.

From this building I saw that the Fataillah museum was very monumental. In fact, it has a very strong characteristic. From the developments there and from what I learned, the building at the Fataillah Museum includes Classical Baroque architecture. it is seen from the window and floor. This large window fits perfectly with the floor. Where the large windows are arranged horizontally with the second floor symmetrical.

Meanwhile, the neo-style architecture can be seen from the strong symmetrical impression on the stacked windows on the right and left of the building. And reinforced with a tower in the middle of the building. While the Doric-style pillars on the north facade of the building. The impression that the design and architecture in this place is very neo-Classical and Classical Baroque style.

From the spatial aspect of the building, the design of the museum has balanced actions with the main mass. The shape of this building is a square with a room shape. The design of this building has a wall structure system with coal material. That makes the walls of this museum thick.

The walls in this building are used as supports. Last time, the roof of this museum used wood. As for Truss on the roof to support the weight of the building. Meanwhile, the foundation of the building has a horizontal and vertical arrangement of wood. Other things in this museum are :

This is a museum I visit frequently. A visit to this place is very cheap. around IDR 5,000 per person. I never get tired of visiting this museum. I always see a different beauty when visiting this place. This place is a cheap tourist spot for many people. Fortunately, this museum is never empty. Many young people come to this place. The design and architecture of this place is very suitable to be used as a photo background that is loved by young people.

With this Dutch architecture, this building tells a story about Jakarta, as the capital city of Indonesia. Although there are painful signs of the history of Dutch colonialism, the architecture of this place provides a good understanding of the art of architecture from the Netherlands. This gives the impression of the design and architecture of the city of Jakarta as the center of Indonesian civilization.

For me, by seeing this place, this building gives a new perspective on the science of design and architecture in Indonesia. In fact, this building has signs of the design of the beauty of Jakarta. Jakarta is not just about a city, but about beautiful buildings. Dutch architecture provides local potential processing. Also, this place is a sign of local culture and cultural approach to the architecture of this place.

I feel that the design and architecture in Indonesia is very rich. This building gives an aesthetic and contextual impression of Indonesia. I was really amazed by some of the materials used in the premises. There is a lot of wood in this museum, recorded, wood used to enter the age of 300 years. I just hope this place can be well cared for. I used to feel scared when I visited this place, because there was a piece of wood that was stepped on. I'm afraid this place will collapse.
