Hello Music Lovers!
I wanted to share one of my favorite songs, from one of my favorite bands and see what other members of the #Musicforlife community think about it!
Between the Buried and Me are a Progressive Metal band formed in the year 2000 in Raleigh, North Carolina (USA).
The Proverbial Bellow is the opening track of 'Automata II', the second part of the bands two part album which was released in July 2018 (with Automata I being released in March of the same year). At a whopping 13 minutes and 18 seconds long, it serves as an epic opening track that takes up about 40% of the album (the whole of Automata II is only just over 33 minutes).
Some of you may be thinking that 13 minutes is too long - but each section of the song is so dense, intricate and finely crafted (in my opinion) that it keeps you wanting more each time the exciting, feel good guitar riffs shift to eerie vocal sections and smooth melodic breakdowns.
The section from 11 minutes onwards never fails to give me goosebumps after being primed by the rest of the song (aptly described in the vocals at 11:53 with the words "Sensory Bliss").
I would love to hear what other people here think about this song, especially if anyone who isn't already into this type of music takes the 13 minutes to listen to the whole thing!
If people like this type of post I will do another one with a different song/artist. I am in to a lot of different music not just metal and stuff.
Thanks for reading.
