Craving some peace of mind among this fear-mongering crisis (that I will not name), I decided to take a nature walk. Being lucky enough to live next to a forest dozen of hectares large, there was no doubt about the direction to be followed. As I spent years mountain biking and wandering there, I have come to see almost every corner of this place, but not all; so I decided to explore the unknown.

I knew there were many animals within these woods but hadn't seen any in a few years, probably because of the people usually walking through these woods, if not for the seasonal hunters. To my great surprise, as I was climbing up a small hill, a large roe deer appeared, perhaps 10meters (32ft) above me. We both froze up for a long second, as none of us must have had such a close encounter in a long time, maybe ever. It quickly bounced away and while I tried to climp up faster to watch it flee, it turns out they are as fast as they're agile. After some research, I learnt they can reach speeds of 70kmh (40mph).

And so I decided to stay in the area a little longer, as the beauty of nature was exactly what I came to see. I didn't have to wait for too long before seeing another deer wandering. As the sun was setting down, I promised myself to come back with a book to enjoy the place some more.

There might be great poesy, perhaps irony and at least contrast in that I am now reading Moby Dick; the adventure of whale-hunters travelling the world to catch their preys, while I was trying hard not to move an inch in order not to frighten mine.

I will try and get better pictures of them in the future, even though it will rely on them approaching me, not the opposite. I hope you guys can take a walk surrounded by nature to relax and enjoy the beauty of this world we sure tend to forget.

Have a great day!
