Test Of Tones

in Sketchbooklast month

Hi Hivers and Visitors, Greetings to everyone. Hope you've had a good weekend?

Today, I'll be doing more than share my art with you today
I'll also be sharing a few tips on how I was able to achieve the beauty that is this art which I created last month.

So I got this picture and I was wondering the possiblity of replicating the details on it, mostly because the picture was taken on snapchat and the filter kind of made it look grainy and the light reflection on her face was so good. Anyways, allow me share the art and drop my 2 cents of art knowledge with you.

So, here's a tip on transcending from dark tones to lighter tones through gradients.
Due to the light reflection on the face of my reference, I had to shade some distances apart from those sections of the light and use my brush to blend the shade and try to spread it towards the light section to achieve a fine gradients.
In getting realistic Pencil and Ballpen drawings, Gradients is important. You have to put yourself through Gradient test. It'll help you master your tones.

So after shading and using the brush to spread my shade, It doesn't get perfect immediately, so sometimes, I have to repeat the procedure with the same pencil or another grade of pencil and while doing all these, I could have more shade on my light areas and that's where my Kneaded eraser or Monozero eraser comes in.
they're perfect for renewing lighter tones and recreating highlights and with that, you could recreate this beauty.

Thanks for stopping by guys, that'd be all for now, Please do well to keep checking on here for your drawing tips and inspo and I'll soon be sharing my 3speaks account with ya'll too, so you can have a visual description of what I do better.

Bye!!!
