All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain,
The river running by,
The sunset, and the morning,
That brightens up the sky;
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.
~ Cecil Frances Alexander
How well it is said by the poet. How perfectly God has made everything. How perfectly nature beautifies every element every day. How perfectly the sun ends the day by coloring the sky with beautiful different hues every evening. And how the sky never fails to mesmerize us with its never-ending beauty, especially during the sunrises and the sunsets.
It was the same magnificent sundown evening of mine across the Fatehsagar lake in Udaipur. I with my friends was passing by the road around the lake when we saw the sun setting down to its extreme beauty. We couldn't resist but to stop and stay there for hours and watch the sky changing its vibrant colors continuously welcoming the moon. Being the lake beneath, the sky appeared utter imposing and more pleasing. When nature blesses you with a sky that pretty and colorful, you could not wish for anything else. That sunset is marked in my memories forever. And as for an artist, the beautiful things do not just pass by through your eyes, without capturing them in your painting diary. Of course, I tried painting the sky as beautiful as it was seen through my eye.
So tell me, are you a sunrise or a sunset person?
