X Tests Free Access to Grok

in Centlast month

So, X is now testing free access to its AI chatbot Grok, I see this as a good strategy to let people know how good their service is.

Until now, only premium subscribers could use Grok, but they're rolling out free versions in regions like New Zealand.

This test allows free users to ask Grok questions but in limited amounts and it's kind of like what you get with Chatgpt 4 if you're a free user.

With Grok you would get up to 10 queries every two hours on the standard model or even fewer for the advanced model.

But for image analysis you get just three questions a day. Yes you might see this as a very small dose of access but I think it's really enough to make a difference.

Elon is basically saying to his free users to try Grok, but they shouldn't get too comfortable.

I thought about why they would do such a thing and I see it's not just about getting the free users to have a test of premium features so they can oay but it might be that the company want user feedback from a wider audience. If they can get more feedback, they can effectively improve the chatbot functionality.

So by expanding reach, X is setting the stage for competition with giants like ChatGPT and Gemini, especially as Grok gets better at understanding images. Trust me, AI understanding images is a feature many will find very useful in the future .

If I'm to build a platform that needs premium members to pay to generate revenue I think I'll leave a small window Opened for the free users to gather enough Data and feedback just like X is doing with Grok.

A little video about Grok 2 so you getting a better understanding of how good this platform really is.
