My contribution in this opportunity is in line with one of the things I like to do, cooking..
Although I don't consider myself a good cook and I don't have all the resources I would like to innovate and prepare delicious dishes, I do like to invent something different from time to time with what I have at hand.
My husband always tells me... you do your heart's work ♥️
And those words are always an incentive when you have to decide every day what to cook "with this crisis " and especially if you want to get out of the routine.
On this occasion I had most of the ingredients to make some patacones but I didn't have enough oil for frying. So I decided to make it roasted so we wouldn't be left wanting 😉😁.
Patacones: a dish that represents Venezuelan food.
They are made from green plantains, which must be mashed and fried.
And then they are stuffed with any kind of vegetables and proteins.
But as I mentioned I prepared them roasted.
I show you how I prepared them and the ingredients I had on hand.
INGREDIENTS
• - Green Plantains.
• - Half Chicken Breast.
• - Cabbage and Carrots.
• - Onion and Chives.
• - Paprika.
• - Garlic.
- - Tomato.
• - Mayonnaise.
• - Tomato Sauce.
• - Mustard.
• - White Cheese.
Preparation
For the patacon, I boiled the plantains after removing the peel, with salt to taste. Once they were cooked, I let them rest for a while and then I grated them through the thinnest part of the grater.
Then I kneaded it so that it would compact and I flattened it, in portions so that it would be like a kind of tortilla.
For the salad I used cabbage and carrots after shredding them I dressed them with mayonnaise and mustard, added a pinch of salt and some finely chopped onion.
(After shredding the cabbage I soaked it in a little hot water to prevent it from upsetting the stomach).
To prepare the chicken, I boiled the half breast with a pinch of salt.
Once it was cooked, I shredded it. The seasonings such as tomato, onion, paprika, chives, I chopped them all in small squares and put them to fry with the crushed garlic when they were well fried I added the shredded breast and added a little of the cooking broth, I let it cook until it reduced all the liquid and it was ready.
Next I grated the cheese and began to assemble.
Remember that you can use any type of protein, sausages, vegetables, sauces of your preference, mojito, spicy with whatever you like. 🤤

Mi aporte en esta oportunidad va acorde con una de las cosas que me gusta hacer, cocinar.
Aunque no me considero buena cocinera ni tengo todos los recursos que quisiera para innovar y preparar platos exquisitos, sí me gusta inventar algo diferente de vez en cuando con lo que tengo a la mano.
Mi esposo siempre me dice... tú haces de tripas corazones ♥️
Y esas palabras siempre son un incentivo cuando tienes que decidir cada día qué cocinar “con esta crisis" y en especial, si quieres salir de la rutina.
En esta ocasión tenía la mayoría de los ingredientes para hacer unos patacones pero no tenía suficiente aceite para freír. Así que decidí hacerlo asados para no quedarnos con las ganas 😉😁.
Patacones: un plato que representa la comida venezolana.
Son elaborados a base de plátanos verdes, que deben ser aplastados y fritos.
Y luego se rellenan con cualquier tipo de vegetales y proteínas.
Pero como les mencioné los preparé asados.
Les muestro cómo los preparé y los ingredientes que tenía a mano.
INGREDIENTES
• - Plátanos Verdes.
• - Media Pechuga de Pollo.
• - Repollo y Zanahorias.
• - Cebolla y Cebollin.
• - Pimentón.
• - Ajo.
• - Tomate.
• - Mayonesa.
• - Salsa de Tomate.
• - Mostaza.
• - Queso Blanco.
Preparación
Para el patacón, puse a hervir los plátanos luego de sacarle la cáscara, con sal al gusto. Una vez que estuvieron cocidos los dejé reposar un poco y los rayé por la parte más fina del rayador.
Luego lo amasé para que compactara y lo aplasté, por porciones para que quedara como una especie de tortilla.
Para la ensalada usé repollo y zanahoria luego de rayarlos los aderezé con mayonesa y mostaza, le coloque un punto de sal y un poco de cebolla picada finamente.
( Al repollo luego de rayarlo lo pasé por un poco de agua caliente para evitar que nos dé malestar de estómago).
Para la preparación del pollo, puse a hervir la media pechuga con un punto de sal.
Una vez que estuvo cocida la desmenucé. Los aliños como el tomate, cebolla, pimentón, cebollín los pique todos en cuadros pequeños y los puse a sofreír junto al ajo machacado cuando estuvieron bien sofritos agregué la pechuga desmenuzada y le agrege un poco del caldo del cocimiento, la dejé cocinar hasta que redujera todo el líquido y ya estuvo listo.
Paso seguido rayé el queso y comencé a armar.
Recuerda que tú puedes usar cualquier tipo de proteínas, embutidos, vegetales, salsas de tu preferencia, mojito, picante con lo que más te guste. 🤤
