Daily Grind #102: Going Back to Food Chain, again (7-3 record)

in Gods On Chain3 days ago

Greetings!

Welcome to the weekly edition of my "Daily Grind" series of blogs. Last week I tried to experiment with a new breed of Nature deck but my collection of cards wasn't enough to compete on a high level. Although I found some success at the start of my experimentation, it ultimately failed to advance to my target rank (SOLAR GOLD).

And since my Mythical War deck is now out of meta I tried to return to one of my favorite Nature decks, Food Chain. At first, I was rusty in using the Food Chain and I made lots of mistakes and was demoted, luckily, the deck was able to keep up with the competition and brought me back to Auric Gold with a 7-3 record.

Featured Match

In this featured match I am up against a very dangerous and very pesky Zombie Tempo Death. Zombie Tempo is a deck that has lots of face damage including an indirect one (from the after-life of the cards and Dread).

God Power: Animal Bond

Mulligan

When I am up against any Death deck I am always looking for my relic removal card because of the threat of Necroscepter.

1 Mana

I played Marsh Walker. My opponent played Voracious Fiend

2 Mana

I played Vow of Champions. I attacked Voracious Fiend. My opponent played Planetar Acolyte and he went face.

3 Mana

I killed Voracious Fiend with Marsh Walker. I played Lootable Corpse, I played my god power. My opponent played Cursed Obelisk and killed my Marsh Walker. He went face.

4 Mana

I played Wind-up Roller and Marsh Walker. My opponent played Necroscepter and killed two of my confused Badgers.

5 Mana

I played my Food Chain combo, I killed one of my opponent's creatures. My opponent played Fallen Legion and he went face.

5.1 Mana

I killed one Fallen Legion, I killed another Fallen Legion, I killed another creature and eventually, I cleared my opponent's board. My opponent conceded and it was GG.
