They were married for 5 years now, Danny and Hannah. Two couples who loved themselves deeply. When they were young and still courting, their parents did not approve of their relationship, but they fought hard to make it work. They both invested their time and body to make sure that they got married and when they finally succeeded they moved out of their hometown.

But in the month of February, the month they got married, Hannah lay on her bed with multiple thoughts running through her mind. For a week now she had been trying her best not to fall for her temptations. She tried to push it away but it kept on coming back. She was a married woman but what she felt for a new guy in her office was something else, every time she saw him her heart pounded. She always wanted to be close to him. His brown eyes, his smell, his body, his charisma was just out of this world. In the past week she had imagined a lot of possibilities like her lips meeting his and his strong hands playing with her long hair.

She lay on her bed that morning, forgetting that she had to go to work, all she wanted and thought about was her colleague Josh.

She felt a light tap on her arms as she finally opened her eyes. It was her lovely husband Danny and he brought breakfast in bed. She smiled at him as she wiped off her face with her hands and gave him a soft kiss on his cheek. "Thank you my love and Good morning". She said, as she sat up to eat.

That day of work was torture for Hannah, she saw him everywhere, it was as if he knew she was attracted to him but he didn't share the same feeling. She stared at him throughout the board meeting they had that evening. The fact was she didn't even want him to feel the same way, all she imagined was a one time thing. "Was that wrong or too much to ask" ?. She thought.

She sat in her office that afternoon thinking about Josh and Danny. " Won't he forgive me, if I just try it once, I mean I have been restricted to one man all my life, I should be given a chance to try out other things, am not one to suppress my emotions'' she thought out loud. She simply missed the joy and thrill of meeting and loving someone new. She thought about telling her husband, but that would just make the case worse as he would think she wanted to leave him.

Suddenly a strange feeling of anticipation took over her body. She got up and made her way out of her office, towards Josh's office. She met him sitting on his office couch taking lunch and watching TV. He was a little surprised to see her. "How are you Hannah?" Josh said as he looked up at her. "Those eyes!, they make me want to melt away", she thought as she tried her best to reply with a straight voice. '' Am okay Josh, can I have a word with you? ``she said. " Sure you can", Josh replied as he tried to make space for her on the couch.

Josh - Hope there is no problem.

Hannah - Nope, there isn't. I just need to tell you something I have always wanted to tell you.

Josh - And what is that?.

Hannah - Since you got transferred to this branch I have always had a big crush on you. I know I am a married woman but am not one to suppress my emotions, that's why I have decided to come clean. Those eyes of yours make my heart melt every time you look into mine, all I want from you is a kiss and I promise not to tell.

Josh - Wow, Hannah I wasn't expecting that at all, but the truth is I share the same feeling. In fact I felt the same way the first time I set my eyes on you.

They both stared at each other deeply waiting for the first person to make a move. With Josh's strong arms he pulled her small round face close to his and kissed her so deeply that he could feel her whole body shiver. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him back deeply. They both drew back gently looking deep into their eyes.

" I can't believe I just gave in to this temptation", Hannah thought. They continued to stare at each other, both trying to force out words. But there was nothing to say because they both felt the same way, The feeling was so powerful. Hannah wanted more but she would be hurting her husband, so she decided to draw the line, she wasn't supposed to give in to her temptations but it was too strong for her to resist.

The End..

Sort:

We admire your courage in depicting a character that gives in to temptation. Most people reading this story are likely screaming, "Don't do it." And yet, she does. Although we may be disappointed in her, we realize this is a choice many people make. Writers should not shrink from the truth, no matter how unpalatable.

Your character portrayal is strong, as is your representation of conflict.

Thank you for sharing this story with us. We see that you engaged with writers last week. We hope that you engage once again with writers this week. Thank you!

Hannah is really bold, I was hoping she would stay loyal to her husband but It’s just as important that she make herself happy.
