How the thorns grow on roses

"Today they drew her blood again. They pujected her several times,” my mother told my grandmother, when they returned from the hospital, and although they seemed apparently calm, many times I saw my mother crying while the girl cried insistently:
"But what's wrong with you? Aren't you hungry?" -Mom would ask as she clutched the baby to her breast, but Rosita continued to cry incessantly.

That was what threw I and Christian together. You. You did it. First, we started talking about you. Just for the record, Christian really liked you. He did but he treasured his happiness and peace more. He always asked me, “Why is she always fighting? Why is nothing ever enough for her?” And I didn't have an answer to that because I also didn’t understand. Maybe it was your way of loving him.

Remembering Pompa

image.png

Unfortunately our harvest didn’t work properly. The apples made undrinkable cider. Our carefully engineered fruit had a tenth of the expected malic acid. By the time I’d sorted a fix to make this years cider usable, worked out the issue, and how to re-engineer the orchard, it was nearly half-a-year since I’d spoken to pompa.
I called. Gramma answered. When we got to pompa she said, ‘Did you not hear about his hip?’

The last night together

Sofia, I'll be fine. Please, don't guilt trip yourself. You've already lived life for me, and now is the time to let go. Besides, I am now a big girl. I have a good job and have amazing friends around me. You've prepared me, Sof. So, be happy and don't let the few hours left to be with your family at the airport tomorrow morning go to a waste. Miles has been a sweetheart taking care of the children while we spend tonight together. Also, I got groceries and you have to cook me enough food to last a lifetime." Elena said with a smile.

Grandma goes on a trip

He went in and approached her bed.

Grandma was already lying down, her eyes were closed and she was very pale. Her white hair was tied back in a mane that hung on the side of her head. She was wearing a white gown with lace that showed the thinness of her body.
Miguel came as close as he could to her ear.
"Grandma, don't go yet".

THE END

> "We're here" he said, turning to look at her. As her eyes met his,the connection that coursed through them at that point was magnetic. They stared at each other lost in their moment. So many unspoken words passing between them at that moment. His gaze was so intense, boring deep into her soul, Rebecca could not take it anymore. " We should get going else you'll miss your flight" she said, looking away.

NAVIGATORS OF TIME

image.png

-We know what happened to your husband. We were already here when he was brought in- the voice said after introducing itself - We can help you, if you allow us to.
The distressed woman found encouragement in the words she had just heard. Far from being frightened, she took it as the answer to her pleas. Whether they were angels or demons, they were offering to prolong her beloved husband's existence in exchange for the use of his body, from which, inevitably, life was escaping.
