Sailing and the Potion
Every morning when she woke up, she was almost always a numb person. That would make no sense what was happening to her. Just passing her time during the day until it finished. She was stuck in a hard time and didn’t know how to get through it. Her mother and father were divorced and she had been out of touch with her little brother, recently.
Her everyday life was surrounded by coffee cups and glass mugs stacked in columns. Every day she had to act like a happy girl with a cold smile on the corner of her pale lips. A wanderer between empty and full bottles, glass cups, and coffee cups is the best description of her lifestyle and character. She had no choice but to continue her life.
It was almost morning when she came back home and burst into tears and laid down on the green sofa and slept. The time passed slowly until afternoon and it was like waiting for springtime in the winter.
When she put her fingers on the glory green woody door and opened the coffee shop it was dark inside and the light of lamps created a very cozy place, people were creating beautiful moments for themselves by just drinking and smelling a cup of coffee, colorful drinks, and eating chocolate cakes.
Outside, the street was calm and it was a portray of modern life with people walking in the rain. The coffee shop’s window welcomed raindrops with a warm hug.
For about a moment she stood in the coffee shop hallway and looked at the people inside, then left to the behind the counter. She felt a sense of light as a feather because she was in love with rain. She had an inner talk with herself about her conflicts.
After a moment she put on her red apron and started her work.
Again she got lost in her thoughts. From the day her mother and father divorced she didn’t have a good day in her life. Working from the morning until night with a very low income.
She went to the kitchen to drink her morning coffee and saw Mrs. Loka sitting on a chair in front of the door and staring at her.
Hello, Mrs. Loka, how are you today?” Maya said.
“I’m fine Maya, but I feel a little pain in my head, please make me a cup of coffee of your special coffee recipes. Mrs. Loka said.
“Ok, Mrs. Loka”. She said.
She made the coffee and sat near Mrs. Loka.
Mrs. Loka said “I want to go sailing tomorrow, do you like to come with me?
Maya hesitated a little and answered, “Yes, I would like it to come with you”.
Nobody knows that she had an inner conflict with herself.
Tomorrow morning it was a sunny day when they got into a white boat and went to the sea. Mrs. Loka had really strong paddling powers, her arms were fighting with the waves of the sea.
When she was paddling she smiled and told me that" you can solve your problem here at the sea" and winked her eyes at me.
At that moment she didn’t understand what did she mean. Suddenly, their boat was turned upside down by a big wave and they drown in the water and saw themselves under the water.
The surprising point was that they could breathe without anything. They had no problem with swimming and both were surprised. From the far, they saw rock and when got closer to it there was a door and they opened it and entered. It was very dark, quiet, and mysterious. They saw a bottle with a blue sparkling material in it. Again suddenly they throw on the top of the water with the little bottle in Maya’s hand. She said that I want to drink it and I have no fear of what would happen then.
After two days, one morning when she woke up, she had a peaceful feeling from inside, no conflict, no negative inner speech, and nothing looked negative. All the destroying conflicts were gone and she was like a newborn baby with a tabula rasa as clear as the seawater to write her life story on it. A potion was in that mysterious bottle under the sea. After a month Mrs. Loka told the secret of the sparkling blue potion to her.
What a beautiful tale, @ghazale64. Your story captures a reality that many people experience, of having moods that take all of their energy and happiness away. If only we had such a potion for people who suffer from depression. Thank you for sharing this story of hope and for commenting on other writers' stories in the community. Thank you for your kind interpretation of my story
I really enjoyed your story, @ghazale64. I would put it in the category of magical realism — a genre that contains very "every day" and realistic details, but with some elements of fantasy. Nicely done!
And you taught me a new phrase.
I had to look that up. Wikipedia says "Tabula rasa is the theory that individuals are born without built-in mental content, and therefore all knowledge comes from experience or perception." Interesting!
Thank you
Yes, tabula rasa a white clean slate of memory

Was it the origin of the little blue pill middle-aged men use nowadays to perform magical feats? Lol.
