Lead Us Not Into Temptation!

My heart was beating as hard as ever, It made a deafening sound as it stomped. I have been running for hours, but all I see is bushes getting thicker. Where the hell are the others.

"Look who finally caught up with us."

"How could you both leave me there all alone."

"You were having such a beautiful sleep, we didn't want to disturb you."

"Scar! this is not funny."

"Ah! Simba, I thought you wanted to die all these while, what are you so scared of now."

"I want to die an honorable death, not devoured by some evil demons in a strange forest. Where the hell are we now?"

"You should ask Mustapha."

"Both of you shut up. Do you hear that? That's the sound of dragon birds singing. We are close."

"Mustapha do you know what I hear. I hear the sound of my stomach grumbling. I haven't eaten since we embarked on this crazy mission, and that's about four days. Your butt is looking more like super by the minute."

"Yeah right. Scar we both know he would chop off your head before you get to his butt."

"Keep talking and I'll grant your wish and send you to hell."

"Can you both stay a minute without behaving like cats and dogs."

"We are cats and dogs." Scar said laughing.

"My point exactly." Mustapha replied.

Suddenly Mustapha came to an abrupt halt, and we all stopped as well. Before us was the most beautiful waterfall I've ever seen in my life.

"I told you all we were close."

"Y'all know what they say about the road to hell being all rosy and pretty."

"Really scar. Does this look like hell to you."

"I'm just saying. I trust your leadership, but please lead us not into temptation."

"So mustapha, how do we get across this?"

"Well Simba we will have to walk right through the falls."

"Y'all know I hate water."

"Obviously that's why you are always smelling. I bet you shower once a week."

On stepping to the other side of the fall, we heard a loud voice.

"Who are you and why are you here."

"Oh no! The witches again" I said as I turned to run, but Scar held me back.

"Be a male you coward."

Then Mustapha replied the voice.

"My name is Mustapha and these are my brothers. We are here in search of the Greenland under the yellow sun."

"Why do you seek this land?"

"The earth surrounding where we come from is dying. We need a new home. Also we are always neglected, we believe if we are able to discover a new home, we would gain some respect."

"To get to the Greenland, you must pass through the red garden. I warn you, do not touch anything you see in the red garden."

With that, the voice disappeared.

"Mustapha, I'm telling you I don't like the sound of this. It's not too late to turn back." Scar said.

"For the first time in my life I agree with you. Mustapha this is becoming crazy. First witches, now mysterious voices."

"We can't go back now." Mustapha said firmly as he walked on.

"Mustapha you finally did it. You led us into temptation. Are you seeing the things around us right now. And we are expected not to touch anything."

The garden had everything one could dream of. There were giant trees with variety of fruits. What seemed like roasted meat dangled on several sticks. Strangely there were trees that bore Gold as fruits. Various flowing streams which were thick red surrounded the garden.

"How will they know if we touch anything. C'mon Simba you want to die so badly right, why don't you grab some of the meat and the gold. If you don't die our problems are solved, If you die, its still a win win."

"Honorable death scar. Honorable death."

"Fuck this." Scar said as he headed to grab himself a steak of meat.

I heard Mustapha roar, haven't heard him roar that loud in a long time. He dashed towards Scar with his claws all out. He gave him a blow on the face. They rolled on the ground for a couple minutes and Mustapha finally pinned Scar to the ground saying;

"I'm not loosing any of you today!"

"Did you see that. Holy shiii! Always knew you don't stand a chance against Mustapha. Did you see how easily he pinned you down."

Scar remained quiet through out the rest of the journey, except when he claimed that he wasn't hungry anymore because Scar filled him with dirt and sand. We walked through the red garden in silent and after some hours we left the garden. Strangely the garden ended at the edge of a cliff.

"Great! A dead end. Seems our journey was a waste after all."

Then it happened, A strong wind came towards us pushing the three of us over the Cliff.

"We are going to die!" Scar said almost crying.

"Now this is a glorious death." I said smiling.

Slowly I opened my eyes and I was surrounded by thousands of blooming meadow flushed with green, pink and purple wild flowers. Not far ahead stood several majestic mountains which seemed to reach the clouds.

"I made it to heaven!!"

I would have sworn I was in heaven, If I didn't see the ugly face of scar, What the hell is he doing in heaven. He ran towards me, screaming.

"This is it! This is it!! Me made it to Greenland! Mustapha is a wizard I tell you."

It was indeed the Greenland under the yellow sun. When the sun sets over the glassy lake, it's orange light hits the mountains in a dazzling way. I took a deep breath and felt the brisk forest air fill my Lungs.

We ran across the unending green forest roaring and screaming with Joy. That was the beginning of a new era. When the other animals heard of our discovery, they brought their families to Greenland. Mustapha became the first Lion King, and Lions ruled forever.
