Hive Thrive: Our Hour for Hive Community

📅 Tuesday, 2nd Dec @ 6 PM UTC
📍 Live on Discord in the Voice General Channel
🎙 Hosts: @buttcoins & @shadowspub
➡️ Guest: @logic (Hivewatchers)

Here we go again with another round of Hive Thrive – the weekly town hall where we bring Hive’s builders, critics, protectors, reformers, and the occasional trouble-maker into one room and see what happens.

This week, we’re welcoming a protector of Hive and an at times polarizing figure on our blockchain: @logic, the long-time operator behind Hivewatchers and Spaminator.

Love him or question him, nearly everyone on Hive has an opinion about Hivewatchers.
Some see them as the immune system of the blockchain.
Others see them as too harsh, too centralized, or too present.
Most people fall somewhere in between—grateful for the protection, confused by the power, or wondering how it all really works under the hood.

But here’s the thing: very few people have ever actually heard @logic speak in long-form.
And almost none have heard him outside of a dispute, a report, or a comment thread under fire.

On Hive Thrive, we’re changing that 💪

We’ll be diving into:

• The origin story: how he got pulled into anti-abuse work back in the Steem days, and why he stayed when most people would’ve tapped out.
• What Hivewatchers actually does day-to-day—the boring parts, the stressful parts, the misunderstood parts, and the parts nobody sees.
• The emotional load: how constant conflict, reports, and criticism shape the human behind the keyboard.
• Tone, reputation, and reconciliation: exploring the gap between intention and perception, and whether the culture around enforcement can evolve.
• The future of moderation on a decentralized chain: what works today, what’s broken, and what could be rebuilt better.
• Power, trust, and community wounds: why some users feel fear or resentment, and what a more transparent, distributed model might look like.
• Second chances and redemption: what it takes to get removed from a blacklist, and how empathy could be woven more deeply into the process.
• What @logic wishes the community understood, and what he himself has learned (or unlearned) over the years.

This won’t be a trial.
This won’t be a roast.
This is a chance for the blockchain to hear a fuller human story and to move toward real dialogue instead of assumption.

And yes—we’ll take live questions from the chat, including the respectful but difficult ones.

Come hang out with us

Hive Thrive isn’t meant to be just another background podcast.
We treat it like a live town hall for the blockchain:

• a place where devs, witnesses, curators, creators, and critics can speak in the same room
• a space to explore the tools, tensions, and governance structures actually shaping Hive
• and a setting where honest conversation can replace years of silence, fear, or misunderstanding

We’re here to:

✅ Help people understand what’s actually happening behind the scenes
✅ Surface the real stories behind Hive’s institutions and projects
✅ Talk openly about drama, governance friction, and systemic issues
✅ Look for ways forward that strengthen the network instead of dividing it

Bring your questions about Hivewatchers, moderation philosophy, decentralization, power dynamics, blacklists, second chances, and the future of community trust on-chain.

If you’ve ever wished someone would talk about “the big, untouchable topics” in public—this is the show where that finally happens.

Meet Your Hosts

@meno – Legacy Hivian, luthier by trade, Herzogian by hobby, cheese oligarch by appetite. Master of ceremony and master of BBQ.

@buttcoins – Hive OG since 2017, community builder, musician, and all-around Butt who somehow keeps saying yes to more projects.

@shadowspub – Eight years strong on Hive, host of Pimp Your Post Thursdays, co-host of Hive Spaces on X, and long-time signal booster for emerging voices.

@alohaed – The man, the voice. Ed is one of those Hiveans who really understands the Hive ethos, and will probably slip in a comic book reference or two.

Hive Thrive aims to be a fair, information-based talk show, modeled after a town hall and built for the entire Hive ecosystem. Whether you are writing posts, building tools, securing the chain, or just trying to understand how it all fits together, this space is yours.

We keep things open, take questions from the audience, and when the interview ends, the real conversation often begins. So jump in, bring your voice, and help shape the future of Hive one chat at a time.

See you Tuesday, November 18th @ 6 PM UTC.

What is the Hive Thrive?

Here at Hive Thrive we see a real gap between devs, projects, witnesses, community leaders, and everyday Hive users. There are many people looking to feel more connected, engaged, and informed — and we want to bridge that gap. This show is about:
• Learning about the Hive blockchain
• Sharing what is available to use or being worked on
• Exploring where Hive is headed (or could be)
• Identifying roadblocks and, more importantly, finding solutions
• Fostering constructive and proactive discussions
• Providing another space for the community to engage

We also want to give a shout out to @ecoinstant. His enthusiasm has been the best kind of infectious, and he has been archiving shows through the Deep Web 3 Secrets YouTube channel so people can catch up on past episodes.

Since this rocket launched we have welcomed guests from all corners of Hive and dug into everything from the DHF to front ends, games, curation, value plans, infrastructure, and more. Join us and see how you and other everyday Hiveans can get involved and learn more about this multi-faceted Hive blockchain ecosystem. All our shows are packed with useful information for any Hive enthusiast or newcomer looking to understand this place a little better.
