My weekend experience visiting Bombas Gens art gallery.

🎃 Hello Hive family! 🎃

There can be no arrival without departure. FADE TO BLACK

That was reading in one of the descriptions of the exhibition at this art gallery I visited today, on a beautiful sunny Sunday.

Most of you don't know a lot about myself (yet). But probably If you have a quick look at my blog you can see one of the things I like doing on the weekends is going exploring and visiting new exhibitions.

This big art gallery is a converted industrial complex hosting exhibitions of contemporary art.

The entrance to this amazing converted space is already taking you to another world.

The first thing you bump into is this huge women's shoe standing right in the middle of the entrance's courtyard. This was part of a small gallery which I didn't like that much so I didn't photograph.

Its name is "Zapato Gondola", which means Gondola Shoe. Brought to life by Antonio Miranda, it has traveled the world. Started in the Grand Canal of Venice in 1990, then in the USA, and finally back to Spain.

The exhibition consisted of drawings and documents about the project called Honeymoon: Unclassified, a peculiar project consisting of the marriage between two historical monuments: the Christopher Columbus statue in Barcelona port and the Statue of Liberty in New York.

If you continue walking across the courtyard entrance, you have access to the main gallery.

The first one is so impressive because as soon as you enter the room you are already immersed in the art installation.

It is a sort of plastic-colored wall filling the space of the room and creating this amazing maze. It plays very well with the space and the perception of it, as some plastic walls are more transparent than others.

Yes, that is me on the right! Just walking around as I love to interact with this kind of exhibition where you can enjoy not only looking but sensing as well.

In the other massive room, you instantly focus on this bit wall picture or photo. I don't want to get too into the explanation of the exhibition, instead of that I prefer to show you the art and let you enjoy it as it is..

I really like the pictures made out of more than one frame.

In this room, there is a mix of photography, paint, and sculpture.
The other half of the room contains this modern flower exhibition. I like the illusion of a flower garden.

As you can see, it is a bunch of pictures of different flowers in different colors and sizes. It really felt like I was entering a garden full of flowers. I wish I could smell them. Then it would really feel like real flowers.

As long as you walk into it... you discover some pictures that are not flowers. They are abstract paintings. They still keep a texture and color from nature. Green, vibrant pink, ...

I love flowers and I love abstract painting. So I really enjoyed this experience too. Here are some of the abstract paintings I was finding on the walls:

I took a close-up photo of these paintings because I love to see the techniques used to paint them. And I find the details of them really beautiful.

From this one when you get close you can see how the paint has been done with lines one next to the other one getting these curves as a result.

And to finish my #weekend-engagement WEEK 177 post I will show you the last photos I took from this room in the art gallery where you can see these three big paintings of these red flowers.

It is a shame you can't appreciate the size but I would say they were 2 meters high maybe. Again vibrant red color they seem to be dancing.
