Weekend Routine Lately| Photo Blog

These days, my weekend is spent on checking up on my adoptive dad. While he is not hospitalized anymore, his condition hasn’t improved much. He needs help with a lot of things from walking to taking care of himself. Every weekend, I commit to visit him while also helping with washing his hair and helping my mom cleaning out the house. What I love about the place is that it has this lively wild life and a very relaxing neighborhood. For someone who enjoys taking picture, it also the great place to be for hunting a few cool shots of feathery friends, fungi and beautiful flora all around the place.

As always we started with a morning walk all around the neighborhood. So far, I have explored almost all parts of it and have seen interesting spots all around the neighborhood. Hands down, this is one of the nicest neighborhood in town offering shaded areas with lots of its residents planting all sorts of plantation. For example, in our house we have pandan that once in a while, our neighbor asked permission to get a few bundle of them. My mom usually does the same with neighbors plants. There’s always its own satisfaction when you’re getting food direct from its source. Also, what do you call this fruit in your country?

Once the sun is high, the mountain can be quite visible from some areas in the neighborhood. I am always mesmerized that it is something I never truly appreciate growing up. It is refreshing to see that nature still has its place in an urbanized city.

I picked this flower from the ground and since the other day it was raining, every flora around the area is pretty fresh.

A Gardening Session

After walking around the neighborhood, we usually check on the yard and see if we can make some improvements to it. We also want to have a beautiful yard that looks like everyone else in the neighborhood. But so far, we only have fungi, pandan, and weeds that needs to be cleaned out. This one below are the flowers you can see in our front yard. We plan on making our front yard occupied with flowers and the side yard with vegetables and fruits.

More Walk and exploring

As the sun gets even higher, we walked around one more because my dad wants to buy some snacks from the corner store. In front of the place there are also plenty flowers all around that makes me just want to take lots of pictures. Since going back here, my life definitely has been pretty interesting. There are nature all around me without needing to travel very far. I can just walk around the neighborhood and there’s always something new to see, something new to check on and meeting new species of feathery friends. Or tiny creature like this one below.

Grocery time!

In the neighborhood, there are moving sellers like this that sells various vegetables and daily necessity. It costs a little bit more than regular place but very convenient since the residential area is a quite a far from wet market and traditional market. This is also a part of our weekend routine where we shop and stock up food from this moving market.

Oh! obviously, I won’t forget mentioning the beautiful butterflies all around the area where there’s always new species almost whenever I come to visit. Today I saw this brown butterflies that I haven’t seen before. Normally there are yellow and white butterfly, so the brown one is quite rarity in this case. It’s also beautiful too except the butterfly flies around quite fast and it was a little challenging taking pictures of it.

I am always looking forward for the weekend because of those. It is also quite refreshing to me because I can get in touch with nature, getting a lot more sunlight from it and take beautiful pictures from it. Not to mention, something like this is practically free and I don’t have to travel afar just to enjoy beautiful scenery and quiet weekend morning. Also just adding one last picture because I think it kinda looks cool.
