A walk in the park Utrecht city

Hello every body,
How is your Sunday going?

In the Netherlands, Sunday is the day that everybody is going outside for a walk in the city or in nature. And if the weather is nice, it could be very busy in the forest ore park. For me it's to busy sometimes. I like my walks on a weekdays when people are at work or school.

Park Lepelenburg Utrecht

A couple of weeks ago I was in the city of Utrecht. And on my way back to the bus stop, I walked trough a city park. Park Lepelenburg. Its a small strip of green in between the city center and the canals.

On the left the city center and on the right were you enter the park.

It started with a nice big, and back then, still green area. maybe I need to go back this week, see if there are still some autumn colors left to take pictures of. Lets see if I can fit that in my agenda.

There is some art in the park to.

And this very intriguing door. It is a back door entry for the Sonnenborgh Museum & observatory. I still need to visit that to.

But very quickly you are on the other side of the park, next to the canal.

The path next to the canal has got some nice old trees next to it.

Somewhere half way there is this nice grass field were people can relax and have a pick nick. Its also used for events and neighborhood party's.

There are many garbage bins along the way and the bins near the grass field have got a can holders hanging on them. Since of the beginning of this year you need to pay a deposit extra on your soda can and small bottles. And if you walk in the city and don't want to keep the can with you, you can put them in a can holder instead of the bin itself. And if their are people who wants to collect cans and bottles they don't have to dig in the bins.

On the other side of the water is a very posh area with big old houses. I love the stained glass window of this house.

And this pictures shows how small the park is on it's smalls side. On the right the city center and on the left you still see a little water of the canal.

This is my bridge to the other side. There is my bus stop to home.
