My Week in Review for November 2, 2024

I hope everyone is have a great weekend! I have some yard work to get finished up today, but not much else on the calendar. It should be a nice quiet day and not too hot or cold outside, perfect southern California weather. Spring and Fall are always really nice here, and I can't complain because it doesn't really get cold in winter!

Some time back I joined the Saturday Savers community to help me keep track of my goals here on Hive. It's been very helpful and I've already completed most of the goals and even surpassed them. It's nice to have your goals set in concrete to help you achieve them. If you are like me and get easily distracted when it comes to goals, Saturday Savers is perfect for you!

Let's jump into the numbers for this last week...

Hive Power

Another good week in regards to this goal. I started the week with 5,250 HP. I now have 5,359 HP, so up 109 on the week! I should reach 6,000 HP by year's end easily at this rate. I couldn't be happier with my progress!

Now onto 6K and hopefully soon 10K!

PIMP

This is my secondary goal for the year to reach 50,000 staked PIMP. I was doing great until prices jumped a bit and I also got started in one of my own projects. I hope to reach it yet, however at the moment I'm at 31,185 staked. I'll need to get much more aggressive to make it, but I do still have about two months!

Leo

This was a goal added a few months back to reach a level of 1,500 staked LEO, I have already surpassed the goal with a total of 1,528 LEO! More than 100 aren't yet staked by I decided to leave that until Leo Power up Day. It's a great feeling to have one more box checked off on the goals! I may go for 2,000 now!

HSBI

This year I wanted to have at least 2,000 HSBI units by year's end. I have piled up 3,065 units, so way beyond my initial ambition.

I'm up 40 units on the week, not too shabby especially since I'm not really focusing on this category right now. I do continue my weekly giveaway and supporting events with HSBI rewards. It's really a gift that keeps on giving!

For those of you new to Hive or unfamiliar with the HSBI program I have some guides to help you out. When I started blogging I had no clue what they were and had to search around until I stumbled on a post that explained it to me. That's why I include this every week to help someone out if they still don't understand the program.

Last year when I started to look at HSBI more seriously I had a grand total of eleven units. I decided to invest more in the program by adding a daily re-blog lottery to my posts. It really made my numbers grow. Eventually, I became tired of the daily extra work and so I switched the giveaway to a weekly event. I also started to sponsor other weekly events and continue to do so every week. SIM

SIM is a great token because it pays out daily Hive dividends, and I love those! I currently hold just over one million of these and I am planning to increase that to two million sometime this year. Other projects keep getting more attention, but I haven't forgotten about this one. It's a great token to hold, but it is inflationary, so you can lose on your principal investment, just a warning!

DUO

This is a really cool token, I may be a little biased though because I help create it! DUO is a token that I created with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman several months back now. Our goal was to create a token that could build up enough Hive Power to assist in onboarding and retaining new Hive members. Our hope is that the curations we can offer will help encourage them so that they can grow into successful Hive bloggers. We are still very early in the project but have already managed to accumulate almost 22,000 HP thanks to our investors.

DUO token holders receive some great benefits. Once you have 200 staked tokens you can receive a daily curation on your quality posts and receive daily Hive dividends. I mentioned the dividend earlier, they are pretty nice to get daily! Once you stake more than 500 DUO you also can use the DUO tip call to tip someone with some DUO, and in return you get the same amount of DUO in your account. It pays to tip others with DUO!

I currently have over 1,100 of these and will be continuing to purchase them. Once this tranche of tokens sells out the price will jump from one Hive to 1.5 Hive each. My advice is to buy in early while they are less expensive! Plus you will make money as soon as this batch sells out due to the price increase!

Other Tokens

No big changes here, I am continuing to collect DBOND and DAB. I have both my DBONDs and DABs staked, so the staked DBOND produces more DAB, and the staked DAB produces more DBOND. So they are slowly growing. With EDS I'm just continuing to hold just about 100, I would like to increase my EDS holdings at some point to over 200, but with my investments in other projects it's been a challenge since EDS isn't cheap. I will get there yet!

Silver

Rough week in the silver and precious metals markets. Silver is still north of $32 an ounce and about a year ago it was ten dollars cheaper. I'm still bullish on metals, chances are there will be some testing of $35 and then to $40 not in the too distant future. Gold is above $2700 and ounce and will likely push through $3000 before too much longer. The world is becoming more unstable and currencies are weakening, so precious metals are a great way to preserve your wealth.

Every week I like to share great ways to invest in silver. It's not just coins or jewelry, there are all sorts of cool options out there. Today is the second day of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexico, so I'm going to share some really cool silver related to the holiday. In Mexico the first and second of November are days to celebrate the lives of those who have died, especially family members. I have found some really nice colorized silver Libertads that are silver bullion produced by the Mexican government. Have a look at these awesome works of art.

There are many interesting ways to invest in silver, not just old coins and silver bars. Best of all it will always have value even come a zombie apocalypse!

DUO token
