RE: Is anyone still collecting their Ste.. Hive-Engine tokens?

I dunno man. I think my biggest stack was the CCC which I've held. I haven't been using the tribes because I'm confused where my work ends up and I don't want it anywhere near Steem. I dumped a lot so far. Pissed off I didn't do it sooner. These tokens simply don't 'work' without consumers buying them to curate with. Of course I think everyone is getting sick of me saying "consumers." Even the SMTs will follow the same road if the business model depends of a few speculators while attracting only content creators who would want to sell. Blah. I just sound like an old man yelling at clouds.

Sort:

Them clouds though, deserve a piece of mind from time to time.

CCC content is great to look at in places, the concern I have is that the bucket is rather large, and many posts fall in, whether wanted or not.

Steem, Hive, and every other token, due to the way things work, could really do with a stronger, wider market. Even 50 cents to a $1, things would look much different.

The hope is that 3 more years under the belt for DPOS will count for something in the future, or it could all disperse like a cloud feeling the heat.

Hmmm. If only Hive had some kind of 'product' a consumer would typically be interested in spending their money on. If Hive had something in common with most people on the planet, we'd be on to something. I wonder what that 'product' could be though? Hmmmmm. I look around and don't see anything. Hmmmmm. Crypto market is kind of small. Not many know or care about it. I don't think your average person would want to spend money on that. Hmmmm. I'll need to think about this more. I'm going to go watch a couple videos on youtube. Would you believe people donate money to these content producers now? It's crazy. And they're just throwing their money away but I guess they like it. I also have a book to finish. Damn thing cost me a few bucks. Can you believe they charge for that? Insane. It's too bad we didn't have that kind of stuff here, man. I think a cryptocurrency would thrive if combined with how those silly consumers spend their money. Oh well. I'll guess we'll just keep thinking about this stuff and trying to find a way. ;)

Please continue Your talking about consumers. I think it is one of the more reasonable ideas going round to give Hive it's special purpose.

I think I will. I also know I've said it a million different ways already. It would be great to have a few more minds in on this, fine tune it. The content creators know it, because it's obvious. They want more people actually enjoying their work and more people with votes big and small willing to use them. And it's not selfish. The consumer is getting something. The entire economy gets a boost because of that paying consumer. The consumer is getting what they want, in the form of the things they enjoy, whatever that is. I can't even wrap my head around why someone who might develop these apps wouldn't want them to actually thrive. Yet I feel some think I'm crazy when I bring this up. It's so strange to me.

And I enjoy those reads every time.

I was thinking today that maybe trying to set up something similar to Patreon but running on Hive could be a very interesting Dapp. Making it easy for people to buy Hive as a way to support their favorite content creator with the perK that they also get a return on their investment. I worry that for many content consumers the difficulties of being on Hive proper might be scary and more complex than they want. Just giving them basic tools to support others would in my mind be the best way to go.
