RE: The Future Of Video Creation Is Arriving

in LeoFinancelast month (edited)

Hive.blog allows everybody access any short form and interact with it. Making content unaccesssible is censorship though.

Edit: When steemit.com was deciding what not to show, we called that censorship too, didn't we?

Yes and it was incorrect. The information was not censored since it was on the blockchain. That is censorship resistant. People claimed it was censored when it was not. A block explorer reveals all data is there.

As for you point here, there is nothing that says an application has to show everything. You could set up an app that only shows blog posts without comments. You could opt not to tie into the image servers and show all content without picture or video.

That's true.

We should not support apps that choose to hide content though. Just as we chose not to support steemit.com.

I support InLeo since that is what I have tokens in and where I decided to focus my attention. What other applications are doing is up to them.

But you are right, people need to think about where they focus their attention and what they use instead of just blindly jumping onto something out of habit.

Well, the one restricting access to certain content is Inleo. And AI assumes that it actually is a form of censorship.

What are they restricting access to?

Well, I am sorry, I've just tested it on two Threads of yours and I can see them now. Seems I can start using Inleo again.

I am sorry for the misinformation, I am sure there replies were not shown for a while though. Thank you for your time and the discussion.

A lot of it was the nodes, being slow to react.

Often, if you get the error, hit refresh...3/4 of the time it will show up.

As for the basis of the conversation, it is a good one. This is something that I see people tossing around, that a front end is censoring. Many claimed that if a comment or post is grayed out due to downvotes that is censoring. It isnt. The information is on the blockchain for anyone to see. In fact, Leo never did that and could read where Peakd (an an example) had it grayed out.

Choices that application teams decide upon.

Replies to Threads published from anywhere else but Inleo.

So what? They do not post splinterlands custom JSONs either. Nor do the front ends show the dark cloaks NFTs.

Just because it is on the blockchain doesnt mean an application has to show it. What if some was posting porn stories and an application was set up for child content, obviously that application wouldnt have to show it.

And an application on Hive cannot censor anything since whatever is posted on the blockchain.
