Top Hive Earners By Category | Authors, Curators, Witnesses, DAO/DHF | June 2020

The Hive blockchain continues to tick distributing rewards each block at the 3s mark.

It is quite an amazing tech with a lot of complexities in it. The rewards/inflation is distributed to different categories with different mechanics.

01.png

The Hive blockchain has been alive starting from March 20, 2020. How are thing on the earning side? Who is making the most?

Here we will be looking at the overall inflation distribution for HIVE in its first days, looking at the authors, curators, witnesses, and DHF/DAO rewards for June 2020.

First a reminder how the overall HIVE inflation is distributed.

CategoryHive Equivalent ApproximationShare [%]
Authors800,00032.5%
Curators800,00032.5%
Stakeholders370,00015%
Witnesses246,00010%
DAO/DHF246,00010%
Total2,462,000100%

The numbers above are approximated for simplicity and not totally accurate.
Hive rewards are distributed in HBD as well, for authors and for the DHF/DAO. Those are being converter in HIVE equivalent and some rounding of the numbers is made.

Now let’s take a look at the top earners for each category.

Top Authors

Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive authors that earned the most in June 2020.

02.png

Note: These are not totally accurate numbers because there is a conversion on HBD to HIVE implemented, and VESTS to HIVE, for simplification.

Author rewards are one of the most know in the blockchain as a lot of users are attract for them.

These are the top 20 author accounts, as we can see the rewards starts from around 6k to 1.8k at the bottom.@oflyhigh is on the top with almost 6k HIVE equivalent, followed by @hivewathchers and @tarazkp.

A total of 8697 accounts have earned authors rewards, out of which 7191 have earned more than 1 HIVE. The top 20 earnings, is around 7% of the total author reward pool.

Top Curators

Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive curators that earned the most in June 2020.

03.png

The note from the authors reward applies here as well. The numbers are aporximate.

The @appreciator account has a 7.8M HP with significant delegation from @freedom and it’s the largest account that is curating, ergo the curations rewards. It has around 82k HP earnings in June 2020. Next are @upmewhale and the @rocky account.

The account above are the biggest curators on the Hive blockchain. Hope they will do a great job in curating and making this place grow.

Top Witnesses

The top witnesses’ earnings charts look like this.

04.png

I have included 22 account in this chart to show the drop in earnings after the 20th spot. The top 20 are earning around the same amount of HIVE (HP), around 10k per month.

The DAO Payouts

Accounts that received funding from the DAO in the period.

05.png

DHF workers are paid in HBD, but an approximate conversion is made here in HIVE as well for simplicity and later comparison. The numbers are not exact but approximate.

There is significant amount of funds in the DHF/DAO now, because of the Steemit Inc stake has been transferred there. Although this stake is still not in use, because it is in HIVE, not HBD. The funds that are distributed to the workers now are from the regular 10% inflation that the fund receive.

On the top is the @blocktrades account that is receiving funds for the image hosting. Next is the @justineh and @netuoso.

A total of 8 accounts have received funding from the DHF/DAO in June 2020. It may have some room for growth here 😊. I would like to see 100 accounts receiving funds at some point.

Top Earners Cumulative

From the data above we can compile the payout for a single ranking on overall top earners on the Hive blockchain in June 2020.

Here it the chart.

06.png

Note: These are not totally accurate numbers because there is a conversion on HBD to HIVE implemented, and VESTS to HIVE, for simplification.

I have separated the different earnings for the top accounts accordingly.
On the top is the @blocktrades account with 158k HIVE equivalent earnings, majority of which comes from the DHF/DAO. @appreciator is second with more than 80k, coming from curation. @netuoso is third with witness and DHF earnings.

The author rewards are colored in black, and we can see that in the top earners there is not much from the author rewards. The top authors were around 5k to 6k per month, and the last on the list above, @anyx is just above 10k with earnings from witness and DHF fund.

The curation and DHF rewards category are dominating the top 20 HIVE earners list.

All the best

This is really interesting stats. Thanks for it.

Just out of interest, do you have the % attributed to the top 20 for each category? Am interested to see how far the 20/80 rule applies for each.

@tipu curate

Thanks!
Well the authors top 20 share is around 7%, the top 20 curators are around 43% ... since its stake based, top 20 witnesses get the most of it ... 80%, and the DAO ... well all 8 account are there :)

Good to know the author rewards aren't very top heavy (my apologies I was reading on my mobile just now and must have missed that part where you said it was 7%). Personally I think the DOA is a bit of an issue, but that's another story.....

Thanks for the additional info.

Just a few people get some of that DAO funds now ... I hope that will change at some point.

pretty interesting that even the top paid author (overlyhigh) doesn't make the cut for total.

Nope ... DAO Workers and top curators there :)

hopefully there is some work being done

I believe there should be a ton more updates on what is being done, if not people should start going over their voted proposals.

Yes - with declined payouts :)

Thanks for sharing bro

Excellent the information you provide us very interesting.
I want to congratulate the authors on the excellent performance and the team of Gems curators who top the charts, and especially the many witnesses who do a great job.
Thank you very much dear friend for this information

Nice Stats, there are some mega differences ,

Awesome report as always. Really interesting to see how the rewards play out and I'm surprised to make the list as a top paid author, I would not have expected that

Awesome charts. Curious if you made a top stakeholders chart? Did I miss something?

Nice observation :)
I have not. This will be basicly be the top HP holders list. It is similar to the top curators, plus accounts that dont vote at all .... motler for example.

May add this, next time :)

neat weekly report as always!

Thanks!
Although these are monthly :)

hahaha I feel like I just read the previous one a week ago!

I will continue to be your fan man. Great work here.

Thanks for the nice words!

Well done, folks.

Congrats!
