RE: When Hobbies Become Jobs

It is so weird... I assume you've heard of Mukbang? Apparently one of the reasons it's popular is because people watch it while they're eating themselves, and it feels like they're eating with a friend.

I'm fascinated by the attention economy, which is obviously driven by advertising and the mission to capture the most eyeballs... but when advertising and sponsorships/tips aren't the only real sources of income I honestly can't really imagine what it's going to look like.

We're at a point where survival is, for the most part, really easy now. UBI will definitely be required, and then hopefully we can all pursue the things that really truly matter to us and not just kill ourselves for 'shareholder value'.
