This is a series that undoubtedly surprised me very pleasantly, at first when I heard of its premiere, I expected the series to be another one of the pile, that did not make much sense and simply did not have the identity of what DC Comics is, but I ended up being wrong in a big way... The series introduces us to Courtney Whitmore, a teenager who discovers a cosmic staff, who belonged to the legendary Starman... After this, she intends to follow in his great footsteps and become a super heroine, one of the things that most manages to hook you in this series is the chemistry between Courtney and her stepfather, Pat Dugan...

I think Luke Wilson does a great job bringing Pat to life, he is a man who has been very close to the superhero world, as in the past he was Starman's sidekick, but never went on to action as such and now has to deal with a stepdaughter who decides to become a superhero on her own merits.... Their interactions are great and the whole series gives you a classic superhero aesthetic... in this story we will see characters closely related to the Justice Society of America. This group of superheroes was like a kind of justice league, but of yesteryear, I don't know if I understand, but people who know a bit of DC Comics, will quickly identify that this is a group of heroes from DC's golden age, I think they will manage to transport that old aesthetic perfectly to the series, in an entertaining way...

Hola a todos fanáticos de las buenas historias, espero que se encuentren muy bien el día de hoy. En esta ocasión les quiero compartir una nueva serie con personajes de DC Comics.. Esta es una serie que sin duda me sorprendió muy gratamente, al principio cuando me enteré de su estreno, me esperaba que la serie fuera otra más del montón, que no tuviera mucho sentido y que simplemente no tuviera la identidad de lo que es DC Comics, pero me acabé equivocando de gran manera.. La serie nos presenta a Courtney Whitmore, una adolescente que descubre un bastón cósmico, quien perteneció al legendario Starman.. Luego de esto, pretende seguir sus grandes pasos y convertirse en una super heroína, una de las cosas que más logra engancharte de esta serie es la química que existe entre Courtney y su padrastro, Pat Dugan..

Creo que Luke Wilson hace un trabajo genial dándole vida a Pat, él es un hombre que ha estado muy cercano al mundo de los superhéroes, ya que en el pasado fue el ayudante de Starman, pero nunca pasó a la acción como tal y ahora tiene que lidiar con una hijastra que decide convertirse en superhéroe por sus propios méritos.. Sus interacciones son geniales y toda la serie te transmite una estética de superhéroes clásicos.. en esta historia veremos personajes estrechamente relacionados con la Justicia Society of América. Este grupo de superhéroes era como una especie de liga de la justicia, pero de antaño, no sé si me dan a entender, pero las personas que conozcan un poco de DC Comics, identificarán rápidamente que se trata de un grupo de héroes de la edad dorada de DC, creo que lograron transportar esa estética antigua perfectamente a la serie, de una manera entretenida..

Some of the things I liked about this series was the quality of the special effects... for a TV series, the fights and the different action scenes look spectacular... the S.T.R.I.P.E robot that Pat builds looks really incredible and realistic... All the fights with the villains are very well choreographed, you can tell they have put a lot of love and budget into this section, it's great when the exchanges of blows or intense action scenes feel real, but at the same time dynamic, they don't feel aesthetic, but immersive... this is something I really appreciated about this series. As for the villains, in the first season we are introduced to the Injustice Society, they are antagonists with quite complex motivations and extremely interesting backstories.. they are not just one dimensional thugs...

I especially loved Brainwave's arc and how they explore the whole relationship with his son, also the leader of the organization, Carambano, is very imposing and intimidating. The formation of a new group of teenage superheroes is also well handled, although I feel that at some points it could have been greatly improved...it's true that each character has their own stories and their own motives for taking on the bad guys. Yolanda dealing with guilt and very direct social bullying, and very limiting parents.... Rick is also a nice addition, trying to control his anger, and find out about his father's past....

And Beth, well she came into this little group of heroes almost by chance, she needed to find a place to fit in and I think this character, is the one I liked the least out of the whole cast of main characters. I feel like some of her motivations or the way she came as such to this group of heroes doesn't feel entirely organic, since unlike the other members, she didn't have a very close relationship with this superhero world.. but hey, I guess she has her good moments too.

Algunas de las cosas que me gustaron de esta serie fue la calidad de los efectos especiales.. para ser una serie de televisión, los combates y las distintas escenas de acción lucen espectaculares.. el robot S.T.R.I.P.E que construye Pat se ve realmente increíble y realista.. Todas las peleas con los villanos están muy bien coreografiadas, se nota que le han puesto mucho cariño y presupuesto a este apartado, es genial cuando los intercambios de golpes o las escenas de acción intensa se sienten reales, pero a la vez dinámicas, no se sienten estéticas, sino que son inmersivas... esto es algo que aprecié mucho de esta serie. En cuanto a los villanos, en la primera temporada nos presentan a la Sociedad de la Injusticia, son unos antagonistas con motivaciones bastante complejas y trasfondos sumamente interesantes.. no son simples matones unidimensionales..

Me encantó especialmente el arco de Brainwave y como exploran toda la relación con su hijo, también el lider la organización, Carambano, es muy imponente e intimidante. La formación de un nuevo grupo de superhéroes adolescentes también está bien llevada, aunque siento que en algunos puntos pudo mejorarse en gran medida.. es cierto que cada personaje tienen sus propias historias y sus propios motivos para enfrentarse a los malos. Yolanda, lidiando con la culpa y el acoso social muy directo, y unos padres muy limitativos.. Rick también es un buen añadido, tratando de controlar su ira, y averiguar sobre el pasado de su padre..

Y Beth, pues ella entró a este pequeño grupo de héroes casi por casualidad, ella necesitaba encontrar un lugar donde encajar y creo que este personaje, es el que menos me gustó de todo el elenco de protagonistas.. siento que algunas de sus motivaciones o la forma en la que llegó como tal a este grupo de héroes no se siente del todo orgánica, ya que a diferencia de los otros miembros, ella no tenía una relación muy estrecha con este mundo de superhéroes.. pero bueno, supongo que también tiene sus buenos momentos.

Algunos de los arcos individuales de este grupo de héroes logran entrelazarse perfectamente a la trama principal.. Aunque algunas veces sentí que las sub-tramas añadían demasiados personajes interesantes, pero que no tuvieron suficiente redesarrollo, por lo menos en el caso de Cindy, quien actúa como una potencial villana. En la primera temporada se siente como su participación se ve entrecortada, no la dejan terminar de brillar, pero es algo que se intenta mejorar en las próximas temporadas..

One of the things that makes this series feel different from the previous ones is its aesthetics and tone.... Although this is a teen series, this plot also touches on interesting topics like family trauma or social pressure, it does so without falling into melodrama most of the time and maintains a very hopeful tone... I think for some people this may be a bit cloying, since being talking about superhero teenagers, it deals quite a lot with the hopecore theme, believing in oneself, believing in the value of friendship, and many more good-natured themes that, although they are indeed characteristic of superheroic characters, may contrast quite a bit with some kind of audience.. you have to remember that this series is based on comics where it was about looking for good and inspiring characters.

Although I think in the times we are in, a series that doesn't try to be too dark is appreciated, while there are some moments of a lot of intensity, it's always good to find some plots that highlight the value of goodness and motivate people to be better. One of the things I enjoyed the most were the homages to classic DC comics, it is a modern adaptation, but it represents all the essence of characters that surely some have forgotten or some don't even know... This is very interesting... there are many references that are fun to find. On the other hand, Courtney's evolution throughout the series is very well done, from being a rather impulsive teenager, she gradually becomes a responsible leader who understands the weight of being a superhero. The actress gives a lot of charisma but also vulnerability to the character, it is true that the evolution of this character is cooked little by little...

We see how she stumbles and makes mistakes over and over again, but remembering that we are talking about teenagers who do not see all the time the situations with complete maturity and logic is understandable all the little stumbles they make... I would have liked to see this kind of evolution in many more characters. Also in the middle of the seasons you can feel that the pace slows down a bit, but it's nothing too important, although I think it would have been interesting to delve much more into the old Justice Society of America, it's good to see all the winks, references that give to understand that they did exist and lived in this world...

Una de las cosas que hace que esta serie se sienta diferente a las anteriores es su estética y su tono.. Aunque se trata de una serie para adolescentes, esta trama también toca temas interesantes como los traumas familiares o la presión social, lo hace sin caer en el melodrama la mayoría de veces y mantiene un tono muy esperanzador.. Creo que para algunas personas esto puede resultar un poco empalagoso, ya que al estar hablando de adolescentes superhéroes, se trata bastante el tema del hopecore, de creer en uno mismo, de creer en el valor de la amistad, y muchos más temas bonachones que, aunque sí son característicos de los personajes superheroicos, pueden contrastar bastante con algún tipo de público.. hay que recordar que esta serie está basada en cómics donde se trataba de buscar personajes buenos e inspiradores.

Aunque creo que en los tiempos en los que estamos se agradece una serie que no trata de ser demasiado oscura, si bien hay algunos momentos de mucha intensidad, siempre es bueno encontrar algunas tramas que resalten el valor de la bondad y que motiven a las personas a ser mejores. Una de las cosas que más disfruté fueron los homenajes a los cómics clásicos de DC, es una adaptación moderna, pero representa toda la esencia de personajes que seguramente algunos han olvidado o que algunos ni siquiera conocen.. Esto es muy interesante.. hay muchas referencias que son divertidas de encontrar. Por otro lado, la evolución de Courtney a lo largo de toda la serie está muy bien llegada, desde ser una adolescente bastante impulsiva, poco a poco se va volviendo una líder responsable que entiende el peso que consiste en ser una superhéroe. La actriz le da mucho carisma, pero también vulnerabilidad al personaje, es verdad que la evolución de este personaje se cocina poco a poco..

Vemos como se tropieza y comete errores una y otra vez, pero recordando que estamos hablando de adolescentes que no ven todo el tiempo las situaciones con completa madurez y lógica es entendible todos los pequeños tropiezos que cometen.. me hubiera gustado ver este tipo de evolución en muchos más personajes. También a la mitad de las temporadas se puede sentir que el ritmo baja un poco, pero no es nada demasiado importante, aunque creo que si fuera sido interesante profundizar mucho más en la Justice Society of America antigua, es bueno ver todos los guiños, referencias que dan a entender que ellos sí existieron y vivieron en este mundo..

The second season maintains its essence but takes on a much more mature tone, this was my favorite season.

The introduction of the villain Eclipso marks a significant change to the whole atmosphere of the series.. this malevolent shadowy being leads our heroes to face not only real or external threats but also their own demons.. I really liked how the series explores everything related to each character's vulnerabilities through the various hallucinations conveyed by the Eclipse, we see the main characters struggling with many of their insecurities and traumas, which adds a lot of psychological depth to the plot. The appearance of new characters like Green Lantern's daughter or anti-heroes like Shade brings freshness to the group dynamics, it is very interesting to see how these heroes are gradually expanding their horizons and entering a much wider world.

Esta serie es muy buena planteando diversos conflictos interesantes para el futuro, dejando varios cabos sueltos que posteriormente se irán atando poco a poco, esta serie creo que es un toque de aire fresco en el saturado panorama de series de superhéroes que quieren ser demasiado oscuras, y que se creen mejores por solo eso.. Esta serie combina una acción espectacular con personajes entrañables y una narrativa bastante sólida. Es el tipo de serie que puedes disfrutar tanto si eres fanático de los cómics como si simplemente buscas una historia que se sienta un poco retro pero con muchos toques fantásticos. La segunda temporada mantiene su esencia pero adopta un tono mucho más maduro, esta fue mi temporada favorita.

La introducción del villano Eclipso marca un cambio significativo a toda la atmósfera de la serie.. este ser malévolo de sombras lleva a nuestros héroes a enfrentarse no solo a amenazas reales o externas sino también a sus propios demonios.. Me gustó mucho como la serie explora todo lo relacionado con las vulnerabilidades de cada personaje a través de las diversas alucinaciones que transmite el Eclipse, vemos a los personajes principales luchando contra muchas de sus inseguridades y traumas, lo que añade mucha profundidad psicológica a la trama. La aparición de nuevos personajes como la hija de Green Lantern o antihéroes como Shade aporta frescura a la dinámica del grupo, es muy interesante ver como estos héroes poco a poco van expandiendo sus horizontes y entrando a un mundo mucho más amplio

It's a pity that Jenny's character didn't appear much more in the series, I would have liked to see her more in action, as she was very interesting... Visually, the series is very good, the special effects continue to keep up very well over the course of the seasons. Although, I should mention that there is some inconsistency in the visual quality of Solomon Grundy, sometimes he looked less convincing, while at others he looked much more convincing.. It's something that varies a lot depending on the budget, I imagine.

One of the things I also liked quite a bit in this series is the dynamic between all the main character's family, this family is made up of Barbara, Courtney's mom, Pat, Pat's son and Courtney... I love seeing how they manage the balance between a super heroic life and everyday problems of a family coming together. I was very pleasantly surprised at how they explored how complicated it can be to have step-parents or step-siblings, as even though they are not blood, they try to support each other and slowly start to see each other as family. It's a series that really surprised me and I highly recommend it. I would give it a grade of 8.5/10. It has room for improvement in some aspects, such as the development of some characters, but I think the things it does well, it does really well.

It's a series that has left me with a big smile on my face... it's a shame that it was cancelled abruptly, and in the last season it feels like they cut everything off in a direct way to give closure to all the arcs that had been carried out in a very fast way... this mainly because of the cancellation. It feels like things didn't end up flowing consistently, but I guess that's life. All in all, Stargirl shines very much in a light of its own, and it elevates and distinguishes itself from many other superhero series, without needing to focus on stilted themes. It's a story that has plenty of heart, humor and action...it's a family story worth watching. I hope you give it a chance. And well, I hope you liked this review... Aunque, como les decía, en cada temporada hay algunos episodios que se sienten repetitivos, pero, de cierta manera, siento que se las arreglan para desarrollar de buena manera a personajes secundarios.. Es una lástima que el personaje de Jenny no haya salido mucho más en la serie, me hubiera gustado verla más en acción, ya que era muy interesante.. Visualmente, la serie es muy buena, los efectos especiales se siguen manteniendo muy a la altura en el transcurso de las temporadas. Aunque, debo mencionar que hay cierta inconsistencia en la calidad visual de Solomon Grundy, a veces se veía menos convincente, mientras en otras se veía mucho más convincente.. Es algo que varía mucho dependiendo del presupuesto, me imagino.

Una de las cosas que también me gustaron bastante en esta serie es la dinámica entre toda la familia de la protagonista, esta familia está conformada por Bárbara, la mamá de Courtney, Pat, el hijo de Pat y Courtney.. me encanta ver cómo manejan el equilibrio entre una vida super heroica y problemas cotidianos de una familia que se está recomponiendo. Me sorprendió muy gratamente cómo exploraron todo lo complicado que puede ser tener padrastros o hermanastros, ya que aunque no son de sangre, se intentan apoyar mutuamente y poco a poco empiezan a considerarse una familia. Es una serie que realmente me ha sorprendido y la recomiendo mucho. Yo le daría una nota de 8.5/10. Tiene un margen de mejora en algunos aspectos, como el desarrollo de algunos personajes, pero creo que las cosas que hace bien, las hace realmente bien.

Es una serie que me ha dejado con una gran sonrisa en la cara.. es una lástima que haya sido cancelada de manera abrupta, y en la última temporada se siente como cortaron todo de una manera directa para darle cierre a todos los arcos que se habían llevado a cabo de una manera muy rápida.. esto principalmente por la cancelación. Se siente como que las cosas no terminaron de fluir de manera consistente, pero supongo que así es la vida. En definitiva, Stargirl brilla mucho con una luz propia, y se eleva y distingue de muchas otras series de superhéroes, sin necesidad de enfocarse en temas rebuscados.
