Hello fungi friends, how are all of you doing here? It’s so nice to see you growing quietly on this old tree while i was walking by

While i was walking outside i saw something small on the side of an old tree. At first i thought it was nothing just some dried leaves or maybe broken pieces of wood. But when i looked closer i realized it was a group of little fungi sticking to the trunk. They were light cream in color almost white and they looked so soft against the rough surface of the tree. It made me stop for a moment because they stood out in the middle of the soil leaves and bark.

I don’t always notice small things like this when i walk especially when I am in a hurry. But that day felt a bit slow and i had time to look around and pay attention to the little details around me. These fungi caught my eye because they looked so fresh and calm. They grew in layers one on top of another like tiny plates arranged neatly. Some were wider some were smaller but they were all connected to the old tree as if they were depending on it for life.

When i touched the tree i could feel how old it was. The bark was rough cracked in some parts, and dark from years of weather. The fungus made the tree look alive again, even if it was slowly rotting. It is funny how nature works something is falling apart but at the same time something else is growing.

The fungi didn’t have a strong smell. They were simple and quiet. They had this soft texture that almost looked like cotton from far away but when you get close you can see the tiny patterns on their surface. Some of them had dirt on top, maybe from bugs or falling soil. Others were clean and smooth.

I stood there for a good few minutes just staring at them. It reminded me how nature always finds a way to grow, even in places we dont expect. These fungi did not grow in open soil, not under sunlight not surrounded by flowers. They grew on the side of a half rotting trunk, in a place most people would not even look at. But still they were there alive spreading and quietly doing their part in the cycle of life.

As i kept looking i started to wonder how many times i might have walked past them without noticing. Maybe they were already there for days growing little by little. Maybe they just appeared after the rain. The ground around the tree was still moist and the air was a bit cool, so it made sense that fungi would show up.

I did not pick them or touch them too much because i know not all fungi are safe. I just wanted to appreciate how they looked. They made the whole scene feel peaceful. Even though they were simple there was something calming about them, like a reminder that nature is full of surprises if we only pause and look.

After a while i continued walking but i kept thinking about those small fungi. Sometimes the things we discover on simple walks are the ones that stay in our mind. And sometimes the quiet moments with nature are enough to make the day feel lighter..
Thats all for today hope you like my simple story about this cute little fungi 🍄
