Happy 6th Birthday Little Miss, Normality returns

in Motherhoodlast year

AND just like that six years flies passed and here we sit a grown little girl and oh how fast these years have come and gone. Six, I can not believe it and perhaps it is due to the past few years clouded by COVID and the many restrictions that we didn't get to have proper birthday parties.

But this year, we are back to being normal. Home's filled with family and friends and play time, the cheer of children's laughter and pitter patter of tiny feet as the rush around the halls and play with all the toys and activities.

The kitchen and living area filled with guests as we talk of the past few years and how great it is to finally reconnect and be able to speak face to face. How developing meaningful connections with friends is now even better sharing a meal.

We laughed and cheered although hosting a party is almost quite foreign in itself having not hosted a proper gathering for a number of years.

But the children danced and played and ate cake! as it is little Misses Birthday I asked her how she wanted to celebrate the event and mark the special mile stone. She asked for a jumping castle and like all good parents, time to book drew close as I got snowed down with work and life.

Calling a number of party hire places and many all booked out until I got a hold of a business who had a booking free up.

At a 11:30pm the night before the party they came to set up and I can not express the delight on little Misses face as she received her Birthday wish. A wonderful surprise when she thought she wouldn't be getting a jumping castle.

It was a smash hit with all the kids as they played and danced and had fun, inside there was an inflatable hoop so you could play basketball, fun times were had by all the kids.

The play equipment quickly purchased from Australia's number 1 hardware store more well known for it's frequent BBQ sausages, Bunnings. Was a wonderful hit amongst friends and children the like.

Anticipation swept across the children's faces as the cake was placed on the table in preparation for the cut, eyes glazed over as everyone prepared for their sugar hit.

The concentration and delicate handling of the knife as everyone lay in wait to see the inside of the cake, was it chocolate? smiles filled the room as it was a rainbow cake!

Oh and don't worry the adults had plenty of fun also, I booked the jumping castle for a little longer than we needed to ensure the big kids got to play on it once the kids had left.

Happy Birthday little miss, I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating it with friends and family and the day turned out to be exactly how you imagined it!

Mum and dad had a wonderful time and I especially loved the play on the jumping castle!
