Join me and my best buddies as we embark on an unforgettable journey through this enchanting haven, where nature's wonders unveil themselves with each droplet that falls from above. So grab your raincoats and get ready to chase clouds and waterfalls – it will be one epic rainy day at Malshej Ghat!
It was a rainy day and I with my friends decided to visit Malshej Ghat a must-visit tourist destination during Monsoon. As it has been raining heavily in Mumbai for the past 2 days Government announced that Schools and Colleges will remain closed.
My Friends immediately made a plan to explore Malshej Ghat and started at around 12 p.m. in the Afternoon. Everyone was very excited as it was Raining and the clouds were down. Police stopped our car and told us to drive slowly due to bad weather and low visibility.
The word Ghat means a road through mountains. It is an uphill climb to see the view from the top and the nature. Malshej ghat is situated in the Western Ghat range and is know for its natural beauty.
As we were approaching Malshej Ghat roads were getting difficult to ride upon and we were enjoying the journey and nervous about the ghat climb at the same time.
Just have a look at the Western Ghats of Maharashtra. It is known for its natural beauty and monsoon is the best time to visit Western Ghats.
It is full of lush green trees and red laterite soil which can absorb high amounts of water during rainfall.
The clouds were down with 0 visibility and the speed of the car was 20 kmph. Mountains were not at all visible.
After some time the weather was clear and were able to see the western ghats covered with clouds.
The whole road was covered with clouds with few cars. Somehow we managed to reach the top of Malshej Ghat known as the Malshej Ghat Point. Had some Bhajiya(fritters) with some tea and Evening snacks.
We clicked some pictures between the clouds and it was very windy at the top. I can just say nature was at its best.
We waited for around half an hour for the clouds to vanish and the weather to be clear to click a clear picture of the western Ghats range with its natural beauty.
It was 6 p.m. in the evening and we left for our way back as it was time for sunset and it was raining heavily.
The ghat section ended at around 7 p.m. in the evening and the weather was pleasant and clear. It was a smooth drive till halfway but no visibility in the village area after 8 p.m. in the night.
We reached Mumbai by 9:30 p.m. and the whole trip is still a day to remember.
