The Most Underrated Tourist Attraction In The Northern Beijing

Another is at the end, and I wish you a prosperous 2025! For me, 2024 was a great year with a lot of achievements and losses. The one thing that I want to mention about the Student Revolution in Bangladesh was the most impactful event for me. I visited a lot of places in 2024 after my last trip to Shanghai and Nanjing. I haven't visited outside of Beijing City this year except for my visit to Bangladesh. In the coming year, I have two scheduled to visit some more cities in China: Suzhou and Changsha, where two of my friends are working, and I am going to visit them next year on some holidays. Today I am going to share my top favorite visit of the ending year of 2024. This visit is in the northern region of the Beijing Municipal.

The region I am talking about is a collection of numerous scenic areas with hundreds of mountains and rivers surrounding the Miyun Water Reservoir, a lake-like water body in the northern region of Beijing. If, say, the exact location is correct, then Miyun City is the north-eastern side of the Beijing Municipal and the last district in this direction. It is a neighbour district of the Huairou district, where I am currently living. The distance of the Miyun district is around 70 Km from Beijing downtown. The scenic areas are at a distance of around 10-15 km from the Miyun district's urban area.

This region is the most underrated scene area of Beijing City because there are very few people in this area in these scenic spots. There can be several reasons for not experiencing so many tourists in this area, especially it will be very hard to find some international tourists here than the places like the Great Wall and the Forbidden Kingdom. The first reason is that there is a lack of introduction of this beautiful area in the mainstream media or in the social sites, especially among the foreigners and even among the Chinses communities. I feel that Chinese people are more driven by the exposure of the community, and this is a great way to make it viral among tourists. This area is missing that hype badly.

The other main reason, I think, is the distance from downtown Beijing as it is so far from the city centre, and there is no subway. For this reason that makes problematic transportation to this distant area with so many natural gems for nature explorers like me. And that is why I have found some Chinese tourists in this area but no foreigners I have seen in several spots in this region of the Beijing Municipal.

From my living place, the scenic area is around 30 km north, and there are so many places to visit in this area. There are mainly two attractions: the nearby section of the Miyun Water Reservoir and the mountains valleys and hiking at several points of this mountain range in the region. Both of these attractive places are full of natural views from all the points. In this area, the air quality and the weather are so soothing as there are no industries and even any villages nearby/ So the surroundings are completely in the lap of nature.

I visited this area several times in the spring season, just after the winter, when the trees and nature were in their great beauty. Nature was full of freshness, and the green lashes in every direction of the region will make you feel so close to nature. Also, It would be a little tiring as, at many points, you may need to hike up the mountains. But the eye-catching views will make you feel better within a moment with its spectacle beauty to explore the surroundings from the mountain peaks.

It was a sunny day, and the weather was excellent, with amazing air quality, as it is normal in April and May in the city. And this mountain and forest area is much cleaner than the city area as there is no heavy traffic or any industries in this area. I have walked a lot, and it was very comfortable as it was slightly cold, and the bright sun made it much more enjoyable to explore the area properly.

Also, the beauty of the stony mountains and the greenish surrounding forests with the crystal clear sky, a stunning drawing is presented by nature that you can imagine in your thoughts. And your heart will be healed with this amazing natural beauty in the surrounding beauty. The people who visits these are lucky to enjoy the peaceful place and enjoy the great place in the great weather that day.

This region is a great area with so many beautiful places full of natural beauty. The memory of visiting this area is still so clear in my mind as it has a great portion of my lifetime memory of nature exploration. I hope I can visit this beauty of paradise very soon to cover the many other locations in the region in the near future, hopefully in the coming April and May.
