More wells, waterfalls and emotions in the Llano River adventure, Cojedes - Venezuela / Más pozos, cascadas y emociones en la aventura del Río Llano, Cojedes - Venezuela

Water and more water! That's what the excursion promised and it delivered in spades. In this post, which is the continuation of the route I showed you in the previous, I invite you to see the rest of the places we visited in Llano River, in the surroundings of La Sierra, Cojedes state.

¡Agua y más agua! Es lo que prometía la excursión y cumplió con creces. En esta publicación, que es la continuación de la ruta que les mostré en la anterior, los invito a que vean el resto de los lugares que conocimos en Río Llano, por los alrededores de La Sierra, estado Cojedes.

After leaving the well and the waterfall where we bathed for a while, we returned by the same path, going down stones and helping us with the ropes. We reached a flat part of the river and the guide led us through a short detour to see a very particular waterfall.

Al dejar el pozo y la cascada donde nos bañamos un buen rato, regresamos por el mismo camino, bajando por piedras y ayudándonos con las cuerdas. Llegamos a una parte llana del río y el guía nos condujo por un corto desvío para que viéramos una cascada muy particular.

This waterfall is kind of hidden, wrapped between some rocky walls that may have once been a cave. Several people in the group jumped in to bathe in the well quickly and it wasn't very deep, although it was cold. The guide didn't tell us what it was called, so for me it stuck as “the secret waterfall”.

Esta cascada está como oculta, envuelta entre unas paredes rocosas que quizás alguna vez fueron una cueva. Varias personas del grupo se metieron para bañarse en el pozo rápidamente y no era muy hondo, aunque sí frío. El guía no nos dijo cómo se llamaba, así que para mí se quedó como "la cascada secreta”.

We had to return to the point where we had started this excursion, there we were going to have lunch and then continue to another side with more wells and waterfalls.

Teníamos que volver al punto donde habíamos iniciado esta excursión, allí íbamos a almorzar y luego seguir hacia otro lado con más pozos y cascadas.

The return seemed faster, and I saw things that I had not noticed on the way, it is always like that, and even more so in a natural place with so many elements.

El regreso me pareció más rápido, y vi cosas que no había notado en la ida, siempre es así, y más en un lugar natural con tantos elementos.

We arrived at the site before 2:00 in the afternoon and sat around for lunch, feeling the river flowing by our feet.

Llegamos al sitio antes de las 2:00 de la tarde y nos sentamos por ahí a almorzar, sintiendo el río correr por nuestros pies.

Again I had brought my can of tuna salad, bread, cookies and an apple. Usually when I'm hiking I don't get too hungry, then in the night I do 😄.

Nuevamente había llevado mi lata de ensalada de atún, pan, galletas y una manzana. Generalmente cuando estoy de excursión no me da mucha hambre, luego en la noche sí 😄.

They had brought several horses here, for the people in the group who wanted to ride back to the village with them at the end of the route, this cost $10.

Habían traído varios caballos aquí, para las personas del grupo que al terminar la ruta querían regresar al pueblo montados en ellos, esto costaba $10.

We finished eating and took an uphill trail to go to another part of the river, this trail was not long, in a few minutes we were back by the water and climbing rocks.

Terminamos de comer y tomamos un sendero en subida para irnos a otra parte del río, este camino no fue largo, en unos minutos estuvimos nuevamente por el agua y escalando rocas.

As I didn't know what exactly I was going to see in these excursions we made along these rivers in the village of La Sierra, since they only specified the name of one of the wells we visited (El Guaical), the rest was an unknown. So it was very exciting to discover these landscapes without having any previous photographic reference.

Como no sabía qué iba a ver exactamente en estas excursiones que hicimos por estos ríos del pueblo de La Sierra, ya que sólo nos especificaron el nombre de uno de los pozos que visitamos (El Guaical), el resto era una incógnita. Así que fue muy emocionante ir descubriendo estos paisajes sin tener ninguna referencia fotográfica previa.

This area of Cojedes state is still a very little known tourist destination, and that is why there is not much information about all these wells and waterfalls, and as I said before, some of them don't even have names. Well, this well in the photo below does, according to the guide it is called Los Colibríes (The Hummingbirds).

Esta zona del estado Cojedes es aún un destino turístico muy poco difundido, y por eso no hay mucha información de todos estos pozos y cascadas, y como dije antes, algunos de ellos no tienen ni nombres. Bueno, este pozo de la foto que sigue sí, según el guía se llama Los Colibríes.

Here we arrived to continue bathing and enjoying, we left our things on the rocks and those who wanted to could climb a little higher because there were other waterfalls and wells above.

Aquí llegamos para seguir bañándonos y disfrutando, dejamos las cosas en las rocas y el que quería podía subir un poco más porque arriba había otras cascadas y pozos.

I left my backpack there, took my waterproof camera and carefully climbed up the rocks.

Dejé mi mochila allí, me llevé mi cámara a prueba de agua y subí cuidadosamente por las rocas.

And there I found two beautiful waterfalls, close to each other. First one quite high on the left, which falls into a narrow well, and then the other one, low but with a wide well. Both are surrounded by lush vegetation.

Y allí me encontré con dos bellas caídas de agua, cerca una de otra. Primero una bastante alta a la izquierda, que cae en un angosto pozo, y luego la otra, bajita pero con un pozo amplio. Ambas están rodeadas de una frondosa vegetación.

We dove into the well for a while, and some of the group dared to jump off the rock, creating a fun atmosphere with the encouragement we were giving them 😃.

Nos zambullimos un buen rato en el pozo, y algunos compañeros del grupo se atrevieron a lanzarse de la roca, creando un ambiente divertido con los ánimos que les dábamos 😃.

At about 4:00 in the afternoon we started our way back, but before that I took my picture by the high waterfall, I'm always grateful to be able to experience these encounters with nature in its purest state.

Como a las 4:00 de la tarde emprendimos el regreso, pero antes me retraté junto a la cascada alta, siempre agradezco el poder experimentar estos encuentros con la naturaleza en su estado más puro.

We returned to the dirt road where the horses and the guide's boots were waiting for us.

Volvimos al camino de tierra donde esperaban los caballos y las botas del guía.

Although most of the way back was uphill, it was not so tiring because the sky was a bit cloudy and there was no direct sun.

Aunque casi todo el regreso fue en subida, no fue tan agotador porque el cielo estaba un poco nublado y no había sol directo.

After about ten minutes of walking we were overtaken by the three horses that had been hired by some of our companions, they were very happy!

Tras unos diez minutos de caminata nos alcanzaron los tres caballos que habían sido contratados por algunas compañeras, ¡iban súper contentas!

My clothes were drying little by little, the scenery around me was beautiful, the mountains with their different shades of green.

La ropa se me fue secando poco a poco, el paisaje alrededor era una belleza, las montañas con sus distintos tonos de verde.

In about an hour we arrived at the village, well, some first, others later, each one at his own pace.

Como en una hora llegamos al pueblo, bueno, unos primero, otros más tarde, cada quien a su ritmo.

And before we got to the main paved road, we ran into some surprises. We had been told that there was a lot of quartz around here, although I didn't think you could get it in any piece of land, but that's how it was. The companion who was ahead of me shouted when she saw one on the ground, and I paid attention to see if I could find it too, and after two steps, moving the earth a little with my foot, I saw them. What a thrill! I gave the larger quartz to my sister, who loves stones, and I kept the other one.

Y antes de llegar a la calle principal asfaltada, nos topamos con sorpresas. Nos habían dicho que había mucho cuarzo por aquí, aunque no pensé que te lo podías conseguir en cualquier pedazo de tierra, pero así fue. La compañera que iba delante de mí pegó un grito al ver uno en el suelo, y yo me puse atenta a ver si encontraba también, y a los dos pasos, moviendo un poco la tierra con el pie los vi. ¡Qué emoción! El cuarzo más grande se lo regalé a mi hermana, que le encantan las piedras, y yo me quedé con el otro.
