The ancient Nomadic Way!
Julley, Everyone
A beautiful day, beautiful time spending out here in the Himalayas. It was a wonderful day.
The sky quite clear enough just with little bit of clouds, though it was pre-fall season and snowfall has yet not started in this region of Himalayas. Though we had a bit of snowfall few days before, but it all just went away due to the climatic conditions.
The story began here we started to hike somewhere! We up north to the Solang region of Himalayas. Manali a place in Himachal Pradesh and it was a sunny day, so we decided to hike up the Patalsu mountain peak and we saw a Campground of Shepherd though as of now,
we did not saw any sheeps or any Shepherd, but what we saw was just a plane Campground with just a bit of stones.
We thought maybe it was something when we get closer to it. We knew that it was Shepherd scam a Shepherd’s house that the Gaddis, the ancient Himalayan shepherds built to protect themselves from harsh climatic conditions.
All that we can see right in front of us was a mountain peak with no trees at all, though we were above non-tropical zone NZ zone where nothing goes except wild grass. Most of the time of the year, this whole region is covered with snow.
It was just the time of the year when this place was quite dry, though there were the trees the last woods that were right in front of us and we were towards the left side of the non-tropical zone, it was the best place for ships to guess so that was the reason why Shepherd used to camp over here and leave the rest of their lives, gazing their ships and leaving their life peacefully.
Right in front of us were the peaks of Pir - Panjal range towards the left side. It was the left side of the peaks of Lahul and Spiti and right side. It was the peak of Kullu Manali. The peak of Mt. Hanuman Tibba was seen right in front of us, and which was slowly getting covered with clouds.
These Mountain peaks which is considered hard to be climbed by the mountain climbers, even the professional ones because these mountain peaks approaching to them is quite difficult as it is covered with snow and ice, and they are just formed up of solid rocks.
It was even an opportunity for us to plan for a new expedition coming up next year that we can first figure out the mountain peaks, and we can even by capturing the photographs and looking and analysing them that how we might approach them.
It was that dry time of the year when this whole place was, this must try, but we got an opportunity to explore this place as being so dry because we can see the mountain peaks that were quite far enough to, and we might capture them and easily figure out that what are these mountain peaks about?
Towards the left side, it was it was the last tree of the non-tropical zone and beyond this was just the sky and us. It was really a peaceful place to stay guys. I wondered that I might stay here for the rest of my life. It was really really peaceful. The clouds were right in front of us, so was the sky and so the mountain so were that tea, it was nothing-nothing less than heaven.
We decided to walk closer to the Shepherd‘s house so that I can capture the views and share it with you guys. It was my first time seeing a house and that to add such high altitude place right now at altitude was more than 4000 m and beyond a bit most of the people, they face high altitude sickness.
As of now, we did not face any issues like that, but I think due to lack of vegetation, we might face issues like less water and dehydration From far and far away. There was no snow and not even a bit of water that we can fetch.
The Gaddi Ka Dera
So finally, after hiking for a bit a while we reached the Shepherd‘s house, though it was closed, but it all it was constructed was just a pile of stones, which protected the Gaddis, the himalayan Shepherd from Harsh climatic conditions, the door it was nothing a do like, but it was just few Sticks that made it a door.
After a while when we get closer to the Shepherd’s house, it seemed like a pile of stones as you can see right in front of us was wide gazing ground, which could be seen in the picture.
The ancient himalayan people, the Gaddis and their descendants were still used to live in this campgrounds and close it to these houses and in these houses, they do not wear the cold climate conditions or lack of scarcity of water or even food. Sometimes what they do care is just about leaving the peaceful life.
Just behind this Shepherd‘s house were the peaks high up in the Himalayas. Really peaceful view. Just imagine guys waking up to every day, living in fresh air and eating good food..
We decided to stay here for a while so that we can relax and enjoy our day, but main motive of this post was to capture the true picture of the himalayan ancient Gaddi Ka Dera so that I can share it with you guys, and even it was my first time, seeing something like that and exploring it so closely in my life.
Thanks for your precious time. 🙏
Love from the Himalayas.❤️

Living in such houses is really a task, The shephards through generations and generations are used to it. Making and living their life as pure as they could.
