Trip to gorge Big Kyseľ

We met a group of tourist enthusiasts at work, so once in a while we agree to go hiking together. We will choose an interesting location and go. Even now it was no different. We live in Spišská Nová Ves, in a town called "Gateway to the Slovak Paradise". And it really is. Slovak Paradise is located near the city, which would be a stone's throw away. We chose a location that is located right here in the Slovak Paradise - the gorge Big Kyseľ. That was the goal of our journey.

We leave for Čingov almost in the morning, where we park the car. From now on we go on foot. A 23.2 km long hike awaits us with a total elevation gain of 999 meters above sea level.

We walk upstream along the Hornád River. The biggest challenge of this tour awaits us at the mouth of the White Creek. It is here that the ascent to Kláštorisko begins via Čertova sihoť. A tourist trail leads through Čertova sihoť with a steep climb. Each of us has chosen a different strategy for going through this ascent. I try to climb at the same pace without a break. Some colleagues prefer to take breaks at regular intervals. Fortunately, no one gave up and we all went up this hill.

We are rewarded with a nice view of the forests in the Slovak Paradise.

After a short rest and replenishment of fluids, we continue. We walk through the Monastery and go to see the huge waterfall from above. It is located at the end of the Kyseľ gorge, which is accessible only with a ferrate set.

Along the way, we notice a tree that has fallen through a narrow hole in the rock. How he got there remains a mystery to me.

It doesn't take long and we enter the Big Kyseľ gorge. This gorge reminds me of a pleasant walk through the forest, where, in addition to the old fallen trees, we jump over the stream from time to time.

In some places the gorge is narrowing and we use wooden stairs to cross this place.

Otherwise, it would be much more difficult to cross this place, and we would certainly get really wet during the transition. As in this case, when crossing over Pawlasov waterfall.

One waterfall replaces the other. This is called Nature Conservation Waterfall.

The weather is great, the climb is mild and we cross the Waterfall in Barière for the third time. This time using a ladder.

After crossing this interesting gorge, we decided to relax and relax a bit. We use what we have around. Some lay on benches, some sat on meadows. I'm sitting on a bench. I enjoy the sounds of nature and clean air.

The rest came in handy, but time is up and we have to go back. We go back around Kláštorisko, but immediately after it we follow the yellow tourist sign with a steep descent down to the mouth of Kyseľ. I will tell you that I would not want to go up this hill today.

The clean and transparent White brook accompanies us to the mouth of White brook. Looking at it, I understood why this stream is called white.

Today's hike is coming to an end. It was another wonderful day spent this time in the Slovak Paradise. Well thank you.
