Annyeonghaseyo Chingudeul!
Tatiana is back and I’m here to bring your creative minds to the different palaces we have visited in South Korea for our Day 2.
The morning in Korea is brisk and cool. Even if we hear the bed beckoning for us to come back, we really ought to maximize our time while we are on this journey. As frequent travelers, it is a given that we would have the propensity to return very late at night to our hotel and to rise quite early the following morning. Having the appropriate attitude for the trip will really help us cover a lot of our itinerary in accordance to its schedule, which is extremely important considering that Korea is a lovely destination to explore and we are not here to simply sleep and stay in our hotel the entire time. Before we leave our hotel to begin our journey, however, we make it a point to ensure that we have satiated our appetites with a hearty breakfast that includes a good cup of coffee that is provided by the hotel. Our typical departure time to start our day is seven in the morning. In spite of the fact that we were having practically the exact same breakfast each day (there were few selections, but the food was really wonderful), it was during this period that I got to appreciate Korea's authentic kimchi. I had only seen it on screen, where most of their meals included kimchi as a side dish, yet I was not able to enjoy it until I was able to eat it for myself in Korea.
If you are a lover of K-dramas like we are, then you will find it essential to visit the palaces in Korea and, of course, dress in the traditional clothing known as the Hanbok. On our second day here in Korea, we are planning to take advantage of the Seoul Discovery Pass (you may check my previous blog to know why we opted to get it). On this particular day, we had planned to begin our sightseeing by going to a couple of palaces that were available to the public during the day. The Changgyeonggung Palace, the Changdeokgung Palace, and the Deoksugung Palace are the ones that we went to visit on this particular day. Because we had the Seoul Discovery Pass, we were able to visit the palaces with free admission.
The experience of walking through the various palaces felt fascinating because, up until this point, we had only seen them on screens; however, now you are actually walking through them. When you visit the various palaces, you will undoubtedly be astounded by their architecture as well as the excellent condition in which they are maintained. At the Deoksugung Palace, we were fortunate enough to be able to watch the changing of the palace guards, which was another thing that left me in awe. It would appear that I have been teleported to a different era (this feeling was probably because of too much KDrama). The very thought of it gave me chills for the first time I saw it. When you travel to Korea, it would be wonderful if you could also be there to see it for yourself. In conclusion, as a part of this Day 2 (Part 1) trip, we were given the opportunity to put on a Hanbok at no cost. Once again, thanks to Seoul Pass! We were given the opportunity to try on their Hanbok. I already got the chance to try one on, so I know how it fits and how it feels... 😎 Because I don't often have the opportunity to wear it without cost, I made sure to have it photographed as well, especially considering how rare it is for me to have such an opportunity. 𝓍𝒪𝓍𝒪, 𝕞𝕖𝕖𝕋𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕒𝕟𝕒 is a Cebuana who loves to travel, eat, and explore a lot of things. She believes that everything happens for a reason and that everyone has their own perfect time to get the spotlight on the stage of life. You just have to do things at your own pace and enjoy the spotlight you deserve.
