Las Vegas is that glitzy city in the middle of the high desert in neighboring Nevada. The “city that never sleeps”, springs to life when the sun sets- bright shimmering lights, crazy magic shows, fabulous concerts, gaming casinos, Cirque Soleil. Also quick weddings.
About a four-hour drive from home in California we have come to Vegas several times - with family, or with guests from out of town - hopping hotels, watching shows, and dining buffet. Taking a respite during the pandemic, Las Vegas' glitzy life is back to normal. The hotel rates have soared again, especially on weekends. We decided to come on a weekday, where the rates are greatly discounted at 50%. We were here for a birthday for a family member.
We still experienced the same world-class level of luxury and the fun ambiance .. on a smaller budget.
BELLAGIO HOTEL
For our first night, we booked at Bellagio Hotel & Casino, which is one of the most famous hotels in Las Vegas. It is also more favored because of its location, in the middle of The Strip, and the iconic Bellagio Fountain Show.
The Glass Ceiling
Entering the main lobby, you won't miss the beautiful ceiling. For a few minutes, I sat on one of the chairs beneath it, staring up at the colorful hand-blown glass blossoms. A stunning piece by the glass artist Dale Chihuly.
The Room
The Premier King is spacious, and the bed is nice and comfortable. The seating area has a sofa and ottoman. It has up-to-date amenities like electronically controlled drapes.
The bathroom is fitted with natural stones like granite, marble, and mother of pearl on the vanity mirrors. It has 2 small sinks and an oversized shower instead of a tub.
The Pool
One of the popular activities during the daytime is swimming or simply lazing by the poolside. Bellagio has five pools with a more laid-back atmosphere and is family-friendly. compared to other hotel pools at the Strip where they have day parties.
Tiled pathways lead to the pool area with a Mediterranean-inspired courtyard.
The Conservatory and Botanical Gardens
There is a fabulous display of flowers, plants, and other fantastic artworks at the atrium of the Bellagio Hotel. Every year the talented Horticulture and Engineering team turns the 14,000 square feet into a magnificent display of live plants and flowers artistically arranged to evoke the essence of the season represented.
The four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter are depicted and there is an additional feature of the Lunar New Year.
We visited on June 7th but the summer season was already on display with the theme, Majesty: The Grandeur of Nature.
The 28-foot tall hands represent the loving hands of Mother Nature holding a bouquet of colorful flowers with water flowing down the lagoon underneath it. The flowers were repurposed into mosaics of preserved and dried petals of bright-colored roses.
Makes me wonder though why Mother Nature and not Father Nature? And this is what I read and learned.
Mother Nature (sometimes known as Mother Earth or the Earth Mother) is a personification of nature that focuses on the life-giving and nurturing aspects of nature by embodying it, in the form of the mother. Source
Nature’s masculine side is represented by the mythological figure seated on top of a rock. A hidden paradise is adorned with green plants and larger-than-life purple hibiscus, a hummingbird, while a giant pours water into a pool.
The 8-foot tall goddess, her hair adorned with yellow, pink, and purple flowers, delicately nestling a yellow butterfly as water falls from her hands to personify Mother Nature’s nurturing and feminine side
This path leads to a mossy secret garden of multiple green mosses. Roses in vibrant reds and pinks adorn the garden and butterflies flutter above reflecting summer’s onset and its grandeur.
The Iconic Fountain
One of the most fabulous but free shows on the Strip is the dancing water fountain in front of the hotel.
The water sways in sync with the music being played and the lights. No matter how many times I have watched it, always evoked a different emotion depending on the state of mind and heart at that time.
There is a water show inside the Bellagio theater and aquatic stage called ”O” by Cirque du Soleil It is a water-themed production -acrobats, swimmers, divers, and dancers in water- and is touted to be one of the best shows currently in Vegas. It’s not free. 😌 Been on my bucket list for a while, so if some friend/family surprised me with a ticket on my next birthday...that would be awesome!! Fingers crossed!
Thank you for reading guys!

The Bellagio is a great place! So much cool stuff and the cool gardens. Great choice for your stay. Cirque de Soleil is always a fantastic show! Vegas is one of my favorite places to visit, just looking at your pictures makes me want to hop in the car and get driving out to the heart of the desert!
You might as well go and join in the summer fun. It might be crowded but that's what it makes more interesting.
The colorful glass ceiling is so beautiful, so is the botanical garden!
They were really beautiful and free access to the public.
Las Vegas as always been a great place that I heard about and experience here as shown just that.

What a beautiful place, thanks for the virtual tour. I can visit this place yet but thanks to this kind of article, I feel like I already reach even a small portion of Las Vegas ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
Yes, you have at least seen a sample of the Strip scenario. Thank you for dropping by.
The replica of the 8-foot-tall goddess reminds me of Te Fiti, a character in a Disney movie in 2016 entitled "Moana". I like the botanical garden and of course the water show.
Is that so? I did not see the movie but perhaps it was inspired by a Disney movie character. Thank you for dropping by.
The place is so beautiful especially the garden I can only say wow wow wow looking at your photos thanks for blogging about it.
It was fabulous as the flowers and plants are real plus the artistically done sculptures. I read that Bellagio Hotel spends millions on its botanical gardens display. Thank you for visiting.
Wow. A colorful place. Such a beautiful place. By the way, the photo shots were too nice.
The flowers at the Conservatory in various bright colors made the place so vibrant and a delight to walk around. Thank you for the compliment I guess my iPhone Pro 14's camera worked so well😊
Once again, you tour me to a beautiful place in my dream.
Thank you for dropping by @olivia08. I know you love flowers.
