Let's go to mountain

Passionate about the mountains, particularly the Alborz range, my homeland, I plan to take you among them using Pinmapple from now on, along with my memories and excursions.

But first, let me give a brief introduction to this mountain range for those intrigued by our beautiful planet. Keep in mind, it's based on my knowledge and might not be entirely precise.

The Alborz mountain

The Alborz mountain range refers to the earth's folds along the northern side of the Iranian plateau, stretching approximately 800 km from Azerbaijan in the west, alongside with southern coast of the Caspian sea to Turkmenistan and Afghanistan in the east.

رشته کوه های البرز به نوار چین خوردگیهای زمین در ضلع شمالی فلات ایران اطلاق میشود که در غرب از آذربایجان آغاز شده و به طول حدودا 800 کیلومتر در امتداد سواحل جنوبی دریای کاسپین تا ترکمنستان و افغانستان در شرق خود کشیده شده است

These folds result from the collision between the Arabian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Spanning around 100 km at its broadest points, this elevated and curved strip is characterized by long, parallel walls, with peaks surpassing 4000 meters (ASL).
It constitutes a segment of the extensive Alpide belt, which also includes the Himalayas.

این چین خوردگیها نتیجه ی برخورد صفحات تکنونیکی عربستان و اوراسیا است
پهنای این نوار مرتفع و کمان شکل در عریض ترین قسمت ها حدودا 100 کیلومتر است و غالبا از دیواره های بلند و موازی نزدیک به هم تشکیل شده که ارتفاع قله های آنها از 4000 متر هم عبور میکند
اینها در واقع قسمتی از کمربند طولانی به نام آلپاید هستند که هیمالیا هم روی آن قرار دارد

The Alborz walls act like a massive dam, capture the moisture from the Caspian Sea along its southern coasts, causing more aridity in the southern regions, encompassing the expansive plains and deserts of the Iranian plateau. As a result, two distinctly different climates coexist in close proximity on either side of this mountain range, which creates unique attractions.

دیواره های البرز همچون سد عظیمی رطوبت دریای کاسپین را در سواحل جنوبی آن گیر می اندازد و باعث خشکی بیشتر سمت جنوبی خود که همانا دشتها و کویرهای فلات ایران هستند میشود. بنابراین دو اقلیم آب و هوایی کاملا متفاوت با فاصله نزدیک در دوطرف این رشته کوه جذابیت های بینظیری ایجاد کرده است

Now imagine, within the intricate ridges of the Central Alborz labyrinth, a colossal volcano gave birth to a new mountain a few hundred thousand years ago, soaring to an impressive height of 5610 meters.

Damavand

Mount Damavand, a volcanic peak with its most recent eruption approximately 7000 years ago, remains semi-active, emitting gases from its summit.
The lava flow on its southwestern slopes have formed a natural barrier along crucial central watersheds of Alborz, resulting in the creation of a vast and stunning lake. Over time, this lake has almost diminished, leaving behind the picturesque Lar plain. The drying up of the Central Lake of the Iranian Plateau and its transformation into the current "Salt lake" has largely been influenced by this phenomenon.

دماوند

کوه آتشفشانی دماوند که آخرین فوران آن حدود 7000 سال پیش بوده، هنوز نیمه فعال است و گازهایی از نوک آن متصاعد میشود، جریان گدازه های دامنه غربی آن سد طبیعیی شده بر حوضه آبریز های مهم و مرکزی البرز و دریاچه عظیم و زیبایی را بوجود آورده که بعد ها کوچکتر شده و دشت زیبای لار را بجا گذاشته است. خشک شدن دریاچه مرکزی فلات ایران و تبدیل آن به دریاچه نمک کنونی هم تا حد زیادی کار دماوند بوده است

Even though I won't specifically assign this post to Damavand, I'll put the pin on it. It wouldn't be fair to talk even a little about Alborz but disregard the twelfth most prominent on Earth and the highest volcano on the broadest continent. A phenomenon that has been observable from very remote distances for thousands of years (up to 700 kilometers in exceptionally clear air) across the horizons of many places in Iran and even Turkmenistan.

گرچه این پست را نمی خواهم به دماوند اختصاص دهم ولی پین را روی آن خواهم گذاشت. منصفانه نیست که به البرز هرچند کوتاه بپردازی ولی دوازدهمین برجستگی کره زمین و بلندترین آتشفشان پهناورترین قاره را نادیده بگیری. پدیده ایی که هزاران سال است از فواصل بسیار دور ( در هوای خیلی تمیز تا 700 کیلومتر ) در افق مناطق زیادی از ایران و حتی ترکمنستان قابل مشاهده بوده است

we can also catch a glimpse of it from the hills of our current residence, despite the presence of ridges ranging up to 3500 meters and a distance of 70 kilometers.

نوک آن حتی از روی تپه های محل سکونت فعلی ما هم با وجود خط الراسهای سه هزار و پانصد متری مابینمان و فاصله هفتاد کیلومتری دیده میشود

Certainly, Alborz boasts numerous wonders that I'll gradually share here on "Pinmapple" in this ongoing series of posts. It won't come as a surprise that I've encountered the best moments of my life amid its majestic mountains.

Even seeing photos again, reminiscing my conditions and experiences, I get ecstatic and shiver.

Here,👆 just two hours on foot from densely populated Tehran, but look, there's no one around.

اینجا 👆 فقط دو ساعت پیاده از تهران پرجمعیت راه است ولی ببنید که هیچ کس نیست

And Tehran, the current capital of Iran, is nestled right in the southern foothills of the Central Alborz, at an altitude of about 1,300m ASL and shares a close connection with it. Perhaps the crystal-clear water flowing from the perpetual snows of Alborz, the refreshing mountain air providing relief in the scorching heat of summer in the desert areas, and the fertile alluvial lands with bountiful fruit orchards initially attracted settlers, even though now, accommodating around 15 million people, its conditions are not as favorable as before. Even the splendid view of Mount Tochal is hardly visible amidst the polluted air and rampant constructions.

و اما تهران پایتخت کنونی ایران درست در کوهپایه های جنوبی البرز مرکزی روی ارتفاع حدود 1300 متر و چسبیده به آن بنا شده است. شاید آب جاری گوارای برف های دایمی البرز، هوای خنک و سبک کوهستان در گرمای طاقت فرسای تابستان و زمینهای آبرفتی حاصلخیز و باغهای میوه در ابتدا جمعیت را به خود جذب کرده گرچه اکنون که حدود 15 میلیون را در خود جای داده است ولی شرایط آن به خوبی گذشته نیست. حتی منظره با شکوه قله توچال از میان دود و ساخت و سازهای بی رویه به سختی قابل مشاهده است

I spent the early decades of my life in this city, with the snowy mountain scenery and the excitement of venturing into them being a part of me since childhood. Initially with my father, later often alone, and sometimes with groups, eventually with mountain buddies and the bestie, Saba, most of my leisure was spent on the slopes and ridges of Alborz.

دهه های ابتدایی زندگیم را در این شهر گذراندم و منظره کوه های برفی و شوق رفتن به میانشان از کودکی با من بود
در ابتدا با پدرم، بعدها اغلب تنها و بعضا با گروه ها و سرانجام با رفقای کوهم و بهترینشان صبا، بیشتر اوقات فراغتم روی دامنه ها و یالهای البرز سپری شده است

خب ، داشتیم از البرز میگفتیم... البته ما هم خود جزئی از آن هستیم. غالب ما فراموش کرده ایم از کجا آمده ایم

تمرین زندگی ِ کمی مستقل از وابستگی و وسواس به رفاه و امکانات شکننده سیستمی، حتی برای ساعاتی... دوری از بردگیِ دغدغه ها و عادات القا شده و نتیجتا اطمینان از بدن و ذهن سالم و توانا

Later on, my mate and I migrated to a place on the other side of Alborz, far from the hustle and bustle of the city and society's interference, to Babolkenar, a hidden paradise in the north of the Savadkooh region. which Recently, isn't hidden much and has gained attention and is sometimes overrun by urban tourists. Fortunately, due to a sufficient distance from densely populated cities, it has remained pristine and enjoys a pleasant climate.

بعدترها با جفتم به آن سوی دیگر البرز مهاجرت کردیم. دور از شلوغی شهر و پارازیت های جامعه. بابلکنار بهشت گم شده در شمال منطقه سوادکوه. که البته اخیرا پیدایش کرده اند و بعضا مورد هجوم توریستهای شهری قرار میگیرد. البته خوشبختانه به دلیل فاصله کافی از شهرهای پرجمعیت، بکر و خوش آب و هوا باقی مانده است

Alright, that was an introduction to the journey and exploration in Alborz which will be presented to you in detail in the upcoming posts, through our travels and hikes to its various locations.

In fact, in terms of nature, people and expenses, Iran is in many ways one of the best suitable hosts for mountaineers and backpackers around the world and it deserves a more detailed and realistic introduction.

در واقع، ایران از لحاظ طبیعت، مردم و هزینه ها از بسیاری جهات یکی از بهترین میزبان های مناسب برای کوهنوردان و کوله گردها در سراسر جهان است و ارزش معرفی دقیق تر و واقع بینانه تری دارد

Next time, we'll venture to the beautiful Azoo Plain near Mount Damavand to become acquainted with the lofty heights of Abret and Pashooreh. We'll explore the scenic valleys and, ultimately, survey the ambiance, the breathtaking view of Damavand, and its surroundings from the summit.

دفعه بعد به دشت زیبای آزو در نزدیکی کوه دماوند خواهیم رفت تا با ارتفاعات ابرت و پاشوره آشنا شویم و از فراز دامنه های زیبای آن و نهایتا از روی قله حس و حال آنجا و منظره بی نظیر دماوند و اطراف آن را مرور کنیم
