Hello, dear Hivers and fellow adventurers! I hope you’re all doing well today. From the photos, you might already have a hint about what this blog is all about. Yes, you’re right! Because for today’s content, I’ll be taking you to my recent adventure to one of Cebu’s most famous tourist destinations—the enchanting Kawasan Falls in Badian. Here I will share with you my experience with my family and why this place deserves a place in your bucket list. So, if you’re looking for a dose of natural beauty and a peaceful escape, this spot might just be what you need. Let’s go!

Kawasan Falls Location

Kawasan Falls is located in southern Cebu, specifically in Barangay Matutinao in the town of Badian. This beautiful destination is surrounded with breathtaking mountains, vibrant trees, and also friendly and welcoming locals.

How much is the entrance fee?

  • The Kawasan Falls entrance fee in 2024 is PHP 200 ($3.50). This gives you access to level 1 only.
  • Canyoneering in Kawasan Falls costs around PHP 2100 ($36), and this will give you access to all three levels.

This information is according to the updated article in guidetothephilippines.ph. After that you will be given a wristband before you make your way to the falls. Life jacket hire is included in the entrance fee and wearing one is compulsory.

ARRIVING AT THE KAWASAN FALLS

Before we reach the main waterfalls, we need to walk for 15 to 20 mins. While walking we can pass by a manmade bridge and a river which is crystal clear just as beautiful as the water falls themselves.

From the moment we arrived, my jaw literally dropped in awe at the majestic beauty of the place. Although the weather during our visit there was rainy, but it didn’t affect its natural beauty, in fact the rain added to the serenity, which gives the place more peaceful and refreshing vibe.

And guess what? Kawasan Falls is also multi layered. Yes, you read it right. The first lavel is the one shown see in the picture, which features water falling with a height of about 131 feet. This level is the easily accessible making it the most popular to most tourist. To reach the second layer, we had to walk and swim upstream for about 5 mins in order to get there. The falls there is smaller than the main falls but it is just as beautiful. This area a bit quieter and also less crowder as most tourist prefer at the main falls. The third level is the least visited and more secluded one. Only a few tourist who seeks more adventure visit there because it requires more walking and swimming as it is located in further upstreams. If you’re looking for trills and adventure, Kawasan also has various activities that you can enjoy, such as canyoneering and zip lining. Unfortunately, during our visit, we weren’t allowed to go to the next levels and experience canyoneering and zip lining because it’s risky since it was raining during that time.

Experiencing a rare adventure with my close relatives and friends filled me with joy because I got to do the things I love while being surrounded by amazing people. This adventure was truly priceless, and I will cherish these moments forever. I hope that one day, I can also share this experience with my parents—I’m sure they will feel just as happy as I do right now.

Kawasan has beautiful sight tho
Small yet Elegant
It looks like the scene from Alvin and the chipmunk in the chip-wrecked episode

Haha, I totally get that! I wish we could all travel more. Kawasan really is beautiful, though—a bit expensive but definitely worth the visit. And yes, it does have that magical feel, just like the scenes from Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked! So dreamy!
