Pushkar with the squad!

in Worldmappin3 years ago

Hello lovelies ♥️

Hope this post finds you in the best of your spirits. This post today is about my trip to Pushkar with a crazy bunch of friends who I happened to meet just a week or two before the trip. Pushkar (the land of the lotus lake) is a popular travellers destination in Rajasthan. It happens to have the only Brahma temple in the world!

However, what made this trip a memorable one for me was the highly absurd squad that I took along with me. It was during my internship that I met this bunch. I remember having this conversation on a random Thursday about how I plan to leave to Pushkar that weekend. The next thing I know - 6 people in that room are all set for a Pushkar trip! 😂 What made this trip very very interesting was the people in it! Six people - Six very very different personalities.

There was Harsh - a religious and pious Bihari who wanted to visit every single temple on that land🤌

There was Bidisha - a cutie from Himachal who barely packed any clothes and made fun of us for carrying sweaters only for her to catch a miserable cold on the first day🤌

There was Shehzad - a Bengali Assamese who was here for the ‘gram. Telling that he has a “sugar tooth” would be an understatement. The man had to be literally dragged out of any place that served anything sweet 🤌

There were Nanang & Kamin - the coolest Arunachalis who wanted nothing to do with temples and just wanted to “chill” 🤌

And of course me, Eisha - the Mangalorean / South Indian who was the tour guide / trip planner / team lead / Judiciary / mother / peacemaker to this bunch.

Pushkar, for me, was full of surprises. From the yummiest Israeli food to aartis on the pooja ghats; stories of pious localites to hippie travellers; from the colourful shopping streets to the mouth watering street food - Pushkar is awesome!

We stayed in tents at this beautiful place called Namaste India. I’ve been to so so many hostels in the country but this particular one has by far been the best in terms of service and people. One wakes up to a stunning view and goes to sleep by the fire. The owner of the property is super friendly and an absolute treat to be with!

Nanang and I chose to stay up one night, while the rest passed out in their tents. On that night, we met a bunch of strangers by the bonfire. That night for me was the highlight of my entire trip! We spoke to travellers who had come from around the country and the world. Our love for travel was what kept us going the whole night. We all shared stories - some funny, some sad, some enlightening, some to be censored while some to be shared.

A huuuuge shoutout to the “Blue Star” cafe. It’s run by an Israeli woman who married a man from Pushkar while she came here for a trip herself. They serve the yummiest pizzas!

We stepped into Pushkar as six different individuals and left as a group with lifelong memories. Maybe that’s the beauty of Travelling🌸It teaches you more about life than any classroom can. As far as Pushkar is concerned - Pushkar, you have my heart! And so do these monkeys ♥️

Until next time, cheers!🥂

Heyyyy, thank you so much for your kind words ♥️

You are so welcome 👋🏻😊

Wow the only Brahma temple in the world, it sounds great. It's interesting for me to see it. I learned about Champa Kingdom in my country and I learned about Shiva and Brahma too. By the way, you have a great gang over there.

Heyyyyy, I’m glad you found this interesting. You should definitely visit the place in that case. Thanks for giving it your time!☺️🌸
