Hello dear Hivers, I hope you're all doing well !
This particular day marked the arrival of fine weather for a little longer! This well-known obsession with the weather reminds me of the very funny David Lynch videos that can be found quite easily on the Internet. You'll see, it's really quite funny.
In truth, it was almost during this walk that the weather really changed for the better, but in any case, if you need proof that it doesn't affect me personally very much, it's that the start of the walk took place under rainy, rather unpleasant slate-grey skies...
But let's start exploring together !
Here we are at the beginning, back from a little flea market nearby, and we've just parked the car in a small car park opposite the bay of St Michel. But at this precise point, we're in the hamlet of St Efflam and the beach bears the same name.
On the first stretch, just across from the sea, there is a series of middle-class houses reminiscent of manor houses, and we wouldn't say no to spending a summer there, in front of the shore and with the possibility of going for a swim across the street.
Some, like the previous one, are all carved and sculpted granite, while others are built in a more composite style. Here, a mix of dressed stone, exterior rendering and half-timbering for the upper sections. But all in all, the whole thing is a great success. And symmetrical, of course :)
This one looks more like a sort of miniature English manor house, with its narrow turrets - which are nonetheless lined with murder pits ^^.
A more traditional Breton house points to a spring on the left, which we'll be sure to take a closer look at...
This is the stone construction above the Fountain of St Efflam, where tradition dictated that newlyweds should throw three pieces of stolen bread into the water. If the three pieces came together, the union would be a happy one.
Just above this fountain is the chapel dedicated to the same saint. Unfortunately, the chapel was closed at the time, so we were unable to visit. Perhaps we'll go back there during our stay ?
The staircase leading up to the building was very impressive, but also very slippery with its rain-soaked steps !
As we continue towards the end of the hamlet - and hope to continue along the coast - the blue sky begins to appear again.
The gardens, though simple, are well tended and it's the flowering sweet peas that catch my eye. Right in front of this tiny house, which would be more than enough for a young couple or a writer's summer retreat !
Just as we thought we could continue, something we hadn't taken into account stopped us: the tide was particularly high at the time, making it impossible to make any headway. This is where our route ends, but we are normally scheduled to go there before the end of our stay.
I took the opportunity to poke around a bit on the rocks and spotted these three species of plant growing by the water's edge. The first appears to be glasswort, which is edible, but I don't know anything about the other two, so perhaps you can tell me more about them !
It's only when we get back to the car that the sky clears up a bit more, and we're off home anyway to enjoy a nice swim !
I hope you've enjoyed this little walk with us, and thank you for taking the time to read it. Don't hesitate to share your impressions, ideas and feelings in the comments !
Have a lovely day, and see you soon,

Bonjour chers Hivers !
<3

Thank you 😊
We had many walks like this especially in mountains.. it's cloudy, then it snows, at some point rains, then the sky is blue and all over again 😂 good clothes are critical!
What a charming place! And those houses are pretty. I would love to walk there too 🙂
Have a lovely day!
Hey @delishtreats ! What you say here remember me so much memories of mountains hikes !! This is exactly the thing and here it's quite the same, the weather change at every tide and it's almost impossible to predict ^^ Here we have some weathers fans that always look at their screen while I look at the sky "Tomorrow morning, great sun !" And the morning, it raining to the max ^^
But yeah, about clothes, I always prefer to be a bit extreme than too mild and to get cold or wet !!
Our plans for those holidays were to do a lot of walks and visits like this, but in fact, we spent more time at the beach haha 😅
Thank you dear, I wish you a great weekend 😘

Merci !
Your alwsys brings somethings special in your travel blogs...this one is not different....lovely shots👍
Thank you very much again @steemflow, for sure, without interested and interesting people, all of this wouldn't much 🙃 ! This motivate me greatly !

I love the homes - it is like being in a quaint fairytale village. Mini-castle etc. - such pretty and well kept gardens. Some customs can cause anxiety and on your wedding day too. If the pieces of bread never meet it could be a troubling start to the marriage if people being in their customs.
The amazing tide is part of the weather that one must take accountof in Brittany. Lovely and picturesque photos. Thank you.
Thank you @momogrow 😇 I thought the same about this legend, that must have been indeed quite scary for some people in the past.!!
Yeah, the tides we definitely live at their rhythms here !
I really like and am entertained by the natural scenery on the beach that you share.
Wao, a beautiful place.I feel relaxing when i look at your photos😍
The structure of the houses, though I think some are old, look beautiful and great. I wonder what's the inside of the chapel looks like. Hehe and what a great way to end a walk with a swim.😊
Thanks for sharing.
Hey @netswriting, I'm still wondering about the interior of the chapelle too ! So I do hope we'll go back there :)
Thank you for visiting ✌️
Man, these buildings remind me of old chateaus. They look so dark and mysterious. Thanks for sharing so many great photos with us again.
You're welcome, it's always a pleasure !
I hope you're doing better dear :)
Yeah I'm doing better these days as my father is better 😎
Ah, that's good ! I'm happy for you :)
Was he ill ?
He is vertigo man, it happens once a year normally but this year it happened 6-7 times which was worrying
Mmh, I understand and really hope a treatment could be found !
Do some doctors know and get about that ?
It's not something you can totally get rid of but my father is better now. Thanks for caring man 👍
Thanks for taking us with you on this tour. That hamlet looks like a cozy and quiet place. Maybe ut was just because of the rain though... :-D
You definitely managed to take some nice and beautiful pictures there. And the weather getting better can only be your reward. :-)
Haha, no I believe it's a chill place to live everyday, but it must be even more cozy in the middle of winter !
Hopefully, we had so beautiful days lately 😊 I hope you're doing well !

Nice ! I hope it will continue like this :)
Well well, @anttn, I can't imagine attributing the success of a marriage or its happiness to that. Because if the bread pieces didn't come together, I'd live in paranoia and think every argument was because of it. But it's quite intriguing to be honest. Those manors look amazing too.🌺
Haha ! I imagine the same too, those legends are so bizarres, but I guess it's all the beauty about it ^^ !
That making me eager to find some others Breton practices and stories, that could be an idea :D
that is a lovely place, exquisite architecture and beautiful landscapes. Wonderful shots dear friend @anttn 📸😊
