LPUD Participant 📈 King of the Lions 🐈 | Leofinance X Zealy campaign

This is my fourth participation in the Leofinance X Zealy Art quest and for today’s topic, I chose to create an art upon the theme LPUD Participant. Now, if you have followed my previous 3 art posts regarding this quest, you know that I am not a pro artist or painter and I stopped drawing during my scholar days as I had lost interest in this. But as I stumbled upon this campaign and started participating in various quests that were listed in the campaign, I started loving the thrill to explore this long-forgotten world once again. For my first 2 art entry posts, I created digital images using the free Canva web-based app that I use on a daily basis for the thumbnails for my posts.

I used the collage technique to make my first 2 art images and for those 2, I just find little png and gif elements from the web and merged them in a way to create unique images that follows the quest themes and I was lucky enough to get passed with my work and also a few readers even appreciated me for my work as I shared them in Threads and a discord. The first 2 guests were rookie level so I didn't take much stress but as I am now on the next level, the standard has also increased from rookie to intermediate and a casual 5-10 craft won't be enough to please the boss lions I suspected. To pass the next levels, I had to increase my level too, so I thought why not grab my pencils again and try to create something more amazing than the earlier ones?

So yes, for my third art quest in which the theme was to draw or create art on the theme - ‘Leader of the pack’ where the participants have to draw a Leader Lion along with his family, I create a pencil sketch after a long time and to my surprise, I didn't get messed up and created a decent drawing with a full grown apex lion and his family with other 5 lions. I spent some hours on the project and it took me a little longer for me unskilled fingers than I expected but I finally finished it and posted the art a day ago. I was a little bit tensed but luckily it got passed as well and I did receive some confidence in my heart to work for the next one which I will be sharing today.

As for today’s theme, they have given us a mission to create an image of a role model Lion. Now, if you are a Leofinance user, you already have a guess what it means for those who are a little confused, on the 15th date of every month Leofinance celebrates the LPUD event which stands for Leo Power Up day, and this day, the Lions (read Leofinance users or investors) power up a certain amount of liquid Leo into their staked account according to their strength to express that he believes in the long term of this project. It also helps us to increase our total Leo stake to gain more curation power and influence in the community.

Now, for this quest theme, I had to express myself through my art on how a lion who just powered up a big amount of Leo would look like! So, I thought for a moment and asked myself the same question, what would I feel? Now, I have bought around 7900 Leo from the market and powered up on 31st May which was just some days earlier and I felt like a King when I reached almost 10k Leo power after the big power-up that ai did with a day. So I decided to draw a Lion sitting on his throne like a King and also showing off his golden Leo stick. As I pictured it in my mind, I started working on it.

Step 1

First I drew one vertical line at the middle of the page and 2 horizontal lines where the upper flat line will help me draw the Lion’s face and the lower one will help to draw the Royal Throne.

For the next step, I started working with the lion’s face. In my previous Lion drawing, I liked the Leader Lion’s face with long manes and full of Pride. So, for this one, I wanted to bring the same feeling as well. I drew a front-moving face for the Lion and started coving it with full of mane around the face. After some erasing and redoing, I finally started liking the initial outcome which you can see above.

After finishing the face of the Lion, I also added a nice looking Royal crown upon his head and also added his front 2 legs as his 2 hands. I gave him a pose like he is resting his arms on both throne handles and also drew the throne behind him.

As for my next step, I finished the lower part of the lion image and the throne he is sitting on. It would look bad to see a king Lion sitting naked on a throne so I decided to add a piece of royal cloth at the lower side and also added the front 2 legs of the throne.

Now the base outline of my art has been completed and it was already looking cool to me. But to add some depth to it, I decided to shade the picture with my pencil and started doing the shade from the left side of the lion’s face. At this step, I also erased the vertical and horizontal lines as their job was done.

After I got finished with the shading process, the picture was looking even cooler than before, I gave hard shades on the outline to give it a pop-out look and it was looking kore eye catchy as well.

After I got pleased with the shading and highlighting of the Lion and thrones, I then focus med on the Crown he is wearing and did the same shade work on it too after I got finished, the Crown was looking so awesome on his head. Now only 1 thing was missing in this picture. The show off from our Royal Lion for his great power-up in LPUD. But, I thought not to hamper the main picture as it was already looking so full. So I came out with a plan to add a Gold stick right beside him by the chair and on top of it will be a glowing Leofinance logo that will resemble his authority over the LPUD.

As for the final step, after adding a well-crafted Golden stick by his left side, now I had to add a beautiful Leofinance logo on top of it and after seeing and drawing the logo, I spent some time here but the result was better than I expected!

So, here is my final work! A Lion king is resting on his Golden throne just after the LPUD event where he performed exceptionally well and gave his fellow Lion a tough time by powering up a huge amount of Leo in his royal wallet. The golden Leo Stick beside him is reflecting his achievement and some even say that he made it for himself just to show off how influential he is in this Leoverse!
