To start, I worked on the design of her hair, which is one of the most distinctive elements of the character. I decided to divide her long hair into two halves, one vibrant pink and the other bright blue, pinning it up in high ponytails with matching ribbons. This style gives her a youthful, carefree vibe, perfect for a teenage Harley Quinn.
The orange T-shirt, with the word "Harley" written in a casual font, modernizes Harley Quinn's iconic outfit, keeping her original spirit but adapting it to a more current version. I wanted her outfit to reflect both her bold character and her youth, so I opted for a simple but striking design.
To add a rebellious touch, I drew a spiked collar around her neck, a detail that highlights her defiant attitude and bold personality. In addition, the background of the illustration is decorated with soft bokeh lights, creating a vibrant and mysterious atmosphere that perfectly complements Harley's energy.
During the process of creating this fan art, I felt incredibly inspired and excited. Every stroke and every detail was a creative journey that allowed me to explore new ways of representing such a beloved and well-known character. Para empezar, trabajé en el diseño de su cabello, que es uno de los elementos más distintivos del personaje. Decidí dividir su largo cabello en dos mitades, una de color rosa vibrante y la otra azul brillante, sujetándolo en coletas altas con cintas a juego. Este estilo le da un aire juvenil y desenfadado, perfecto para una Harley Quinn adolescente.
La camiseta naranja, con la palabra “Harley” escrita en una fuente casual, moderniza el icónico atuendo de Harley Quinn, manteniendo su espíritu original pero adaptándolo a una versión más actual. Para añadir un toque rebelde, le dibujé un collar de pinchos alrededor del cuello, un detalle que resalta su actitud desafiante y su personalidad audaz. Process / Proceso
It all started with the sketch, the basis of any good illustration. At this stage, I focused on capturing Harley's pose and expression. I wanted her youthful, carefree attitude to be evident from the start, so I drew her long hair in two high ponytails, making sure that every detail reflected her character. I used soft, loose lines to define the overall structure, leaving room for adjustments and improvements as I went along.
Once satisfied with the sketch, I moved on to outlining, where the art began to take shape in a more defined way. Here, I used a fine brush to carefully trace over the lines of the sketch, making sure to maintain cleanliness and precision in each stroke. During this process, I added additional details, such as the ribbons in her pigtails and the spiked necklace, which contribute to her rebellious look. Outlining was crucial to establish the clear boundaries and structure of the character before moving on to the next step.
Coloring was the stage where I could really have fun with the color palette. For the hair, I opted for a vibrant pink on one side and a bright blue on the other, achieving a striking contrast that captures the essence of Harley Quinn. The orange t-shirt, with the word "Harley" written in a casual font, added a modern twist to the iconic outfit. I used bold, saturated colors to make sure the illustration had a strong visual impact and reflected Harley's vibrant personality.
Next, it was time to apply shadows and highlights, giving depth and realism to the illustration. I added subtle shadows to emphasize shapes and volumes, making sure that every crease in the clothing and every strand of hair had a three-dimensional feel. The shimmers were strategically applied to highlight key areas, such as the sparkle in her eyes and the reflection in her hair, adding a touch of vibrancy and energy to the image. This shading and glow process helped create a sense of dynamism and movement, making Harley Quinn really jump off the screen.
Each of these stages was an integral part of the creative journey, allowing me to explore and experiment with different techniques to achieve the final result. The process was both challenging and rewarding, and allowed me to delve deeper into the essence of Harley Quinn while reinventing her in a teenage, anime-style version.
Todo comenzó con el boceto, la base de cualquier buena ilustración. En esta etapa, me concentré en capturar la postura y la expresión de Harley. Quería que su actitud juvenil y desenfadada fuera evidente desde el principio, así que dibujé su cabello largo en dos coletas altas, asegurándome de que cada detalle reflejara su carácter. Utilicé líneas suaves y sueltas para definir la estructura general, dejando espacio para ajustes y mejoras a medida que avanzaba.
Una vez satisfecha con el boceto, pasé al delineado, donde el arte comenzó a tomar forma de manera más definida. Aquí, utilicé un pincel fino para trazar cuidadosamente sobre las líneas del boceto, asegurándome de mantener la limpieza y precisión en cada trazo. Durante este proceso, añadí detalles adicionales, como las cintas en sus coletas y el collar de pinchos, que contribuyen a su look rebelde. El delineado fue crucial para establecer los límites claros y la estructura del personaje antes de pasar al siguiente paso.
El coloreado fue la etapa donde realmente pude divertirme con la paleta de colores. Para el cabello, opté por un vibrante rosa en un lado y un azul brillante en el otro, logrando un contraste llamativo que captura la esencia de Harley Quinn. La camiseta naranja, con la palabra “Harley” escrita en una fuente casual, añadió un toque moderno al icónico atuendo. Usé colores vivos y saturados para asegurarme de que la ilustración tuviera un impacto visual fuerte y reflejara la personalidad vibrante de Harley.
Luego, fue el momento de aplicar sombras y brillos, dando profundidad y realismo a la ilustración. Añadí sombras sutiles para enfatizar las formas y los volúmenes, asegurándome de que cada pliegue en la ropa y cada mechón de cabello tuviera una sensación tridimensional. Los brillos se aplicaron estratégicamente para resaltar áreas clave, como el brillo en sus ojos y el reflejo en su cabello, añadiendo un toque de vitalidad y energía a la imagen. Este proceso de sombreado y brillo ayudó a crear una sensación de dinamismo y movimiento, haciendo que Harley Quinn realmente saltara de la pantalla.
Cada una de estas etapas fue una parte integral del viaje creativo, permitiéndome explorar y experimentar con diferentes técnicas para lograr el resultado final. El proceso fue tanto desafiante como gratificante, y me permitió profundizar en la esencia de Harley Quinn mientras la reinventaba en una versión adolescente y al estilo anime.

Hola legra, cómo estás ? Bueno te comento mi experiencia, al principio el dibujo digital es algo complicado, pero no imposible, todo depende de la práctica, yo empecé con los cursos que dicta el canal oficial de Ibis paint x en YouTube, he inclusive los dibujos lo hacen desde el celular y usando los dedos para dibujar, hay todo tipo de clases, échale un ojo, espero que sea de ayuda. 😊
