Hello to all the members of this community, anime lovers and, above all, lovers of events! Since about 2010, I have been attending anime events that take place in my country (Venezuela), more specifically those held in the cities of Barquisimeto and Caracas. However, I was away from the world of cosplay for a while and, therefore, from events. Now that I am living in the capital, I took the opportunity to attend Comic-Con one day and today, I will tell you how I spent it 😉

The truth is, I wasn't really excited to go haha ​​First, because the scheduled date was for August, but due to various problems in the country at that time, the date was moved to November. That made me overconfident and the cosplay I had planned to bring wasn't ready. But, what discouraged me the most was that my sister wasn't going to be able to attend and since I had made up my mind that I would go with her, well... Being alone at the event didn't really make me feel like it.

Even so, I had already bought the ticket in advance, so I decided that I would take advantage of using one of my old cosplays, which I had only used once. The character is Ranma Saotome, from the shoujo anime Ranma 1/2. I took advantage of the fact that they recently released a remake of that anime and surely, someone would recognize my cosplay. So, I made the necessary arrangements and on the day of the event, I was ready to go.

I was a little nervous, because I had already gotten used to the small events in the other city and this one was one of the biggest events in the country, so thinking about so many people gathered there made me anxious haha ​​Also because it was my first time going to California, in fact, I had never gotten that far on my own and much less knew how to get to the Líder Shopping Center, which was where the event was going to be. Luckily, the place was pretty close to the metro station, so it didn't take long for me to walk there.

When I entered the mall, I was impressed. The place is huge and has many floors (I've never been in a mall that high 😯). As soon as I entered, I saw Christmas decorations with allusions to Harry Potter. I took a couple of photos and continued on my way, since I had arrived around noon and since I was alone, I couldn't stay that late 😅 The process of exchanging the ticket was quite quick, luckily, because the line to enter was long.

My nervousness disappeared when I started to see the cosplayers and ask them for photos. I stayed like that for a long time, recognizing some characters or simply looking at their costumes. I really like events for that reason, I am impressed by the level of creativity that people can have to recreate their favorite characters.

I also took the opportunity to look at the stalls and their items. I was hoping to find something of my favorite character, but I was unsuccessful. Although that is also a good thing, because I tend to be a compulsive buyer when it comes to what I like and if I have money available haha.

In the middle of that, I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in years, he was with his godson and his cousin, so I took advantage of being with them. My friend invited me to eat and I ordered some chicken burgers. The combo was five burgers! 😳 I couldn't eat more than two haha ​​but I was very satisfied 😋

After recharging our batteries, we returned to the event and continued taking pictures. The number of cosplayers was incredible, I regretted that there were some that I couldn't see or some photos that came out blurry because I didn't focus the camera properly 😭

As for activities, I would have liked to participate in the free karaoke, but I was nervous haha. I was able to see the cosplay catwalk and a little bit of an appearance by one of the special guests. But unfortunately, it got too late and I had to return home.

I had a great time, the time went by super fast and I really enjoyed the little time I was able to spend, especially spending time with my friend. We have been encouraged to continue seeing each other at future events.

As for my cosplay, to my surprise, not only did they recognize the character, but they told me that I looked really nice and they took more photos than expected. I am planning to do a photo shoot especially of that cosplay, so, keep an eye on my blog to see the photos 😊✨

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad, amantes del anime y sobre todo, de los eventos! Desde más o menos el año 2010, he estado asistiendo a los eventos de anime que se realizan en mi país (Venezuela), más específicamente en los realizados en las ciudades de Barquisimeto y Caracas. Sin embargo, estuve apartada una temporada del mundo del cosplay y por tanto, de los eventos. Ahora que estoy viviendo en la capital, aproveché de asistir un día a la Comic-Con y hoy, les hablaré qué tal la pasé 😉

La verdad, no estaba muy animada por ir jaja Primero, porque la fecha pautada era para Agosto, pero debido a varios problemas en el país en ese tiempo, la fecha se movió para Noviembre. Eso hizo que me confiara y el cosplay que tenía pensado llevar, no estuviera listo. Pero, lo que más me desanimó, fue que mi hermana no iba a poder asistir y dado que me había hecho a la idea de que iría con ella, pues... Estar sola en el evento, no me animaba mucho.

Aún así, ya había comprado la entrada en preventa, así que decidí que aprovecharía de usar uno de mis cosplay viejos y el cual, sólo había usado una vez. El personaje es Ranma Saotome, del anime shoujo Ranma 1/2. Aproveché que recientemente sacaron un remake de ese anime y seguramente, alguien reconocería mi cosplay. De modo que, hice los arreglos necesarios y el día del evento, estaba lista para partir.

Cosplay realizado

Estaba algo nerviosa, porque ya me había acostumbrado a los eventos pequeños de la otra ciudad y éste, se trataba de uno de los eventos más grandes del país, así que pensar en tanta gente reunida, me ponía ansiosa jaja También porque era la primera vez que iba a la California, de hecho, nunca había llegado tan lejos por mi cuenta y mucho menos sabía llegar al Centro Comercial Líder, que era dónde sería el evento. Por suerte, el lugar quedaba bastante cerca de la estación de metro, así que no tardé en llegar caminando.

Al entrar al centro comercial, quedé impresionada. El lugar es enorme y tiene muchos pisos (nunca había estado en un centro comercial tan alto 😯). Apenas entrando, vi decoración navideña con alusión a Harry Potter. Tomé un par de fotografías y seguí mi camino, puesto que había llegado a eso del mediodía y como andaba sola, no podía estar tan tarde 😅 El proceso de canje de la entrada fue bastante rápido por suerte, porque la fila para ingresar, era larga.

Mi nerviosismo se esfumó al empezar a ver a los cosplayers y pedirles fotos. Así estuve por largo rato, reconociendo algunos personajes o simplemente contemplando sus trajes. Me gustan mucho los eventos por eso, me impresiona el nivel de creatividad que pueden tener las personas para recrear a sus personajes favoritos.

También aproveché para mirar los puestos de ventas y sus artículos. Tenía la esperanza de hallar algo de mi personaje favorito, pero no tuve éxito alguno. Aunque también eso es positivo, porque suelo ser compradora compulsiva cuando se trata de lo que me gusta y si tengo dinero disponible jaja.

En medio de eso, me encontré con un amigo que tenía años sin ver, estaba junto a su ahijado y su prima, así que aproveché de estar con ellos. Mi amigo me invitó a comer y pedí unas hamburguesas de pollo ¡El combo eran de cinco hamburguesas! 😳 No pude más que comerme dos jaja pero quedé muy satisfecha 😋

Luego de recargar nuestras energías, volvimos al evento y a seguir tomando fotografías. La cantidad de cosplayers era increíble, lamenté que hubieron algunos que no pude ver o algunas fotografías que me salieron borrosas al no enfocar bien la cámara 😭

En cuanto a las actividades, me hubiera gustado participar en el karaoke libre, pero me dio nervios jaja puede ver la pasarela cosplay y un poco de la aparición de uno de los invitados especiales. Pero, lamentablemente, se hizo muy tarde y tuve que retornar a casa.

La pasé bastante bien, el tiempo pasó súper rápido y realmente disfruté con lo poco que pude estar, sobre todo el pasar tiempo con mi amigo. Nos hemos animado a seguir viéndonos en futuros eventos.

En cuanto a mi cosplay, para mi sorpresa, no sólo reconocieron el personaje, sino que me dijeron que me había quedado muy bonito y me tomaron más fotos de las esperadas. Tengo pensado hacer una sesión de fotos especialmente de ese cosplay, así que, estén pendientes en mi blog para ver las fotografías 😊✨
