Plot
The anime introduces us to Takuya Ohara, an employee of the JTC travel agency, who is nothing more than a quiet, introverted and very unsociable young man even among his co-workers. However, one of his coworkers named Rika Honjoji sometimes looks at him with a look that he misinterprets as contempt, hatred or coldness; with which he wonders what he has done wrong for her to always look at him like that. One day, while being yelled at and corrected by his manager, Kurokawa, Kurokawa makes an announcement to the entire group of employees that in 365 days a new branch of the company will open in Alaska and that they are looking for employees, preferably single, to be transferred there. For a "Slice of Life" anime, I really liked how its story and main characters are constructed, especially the way the two relate to each other and pretend to be a couple (which we know how it will end). While not one of my favorites, this romantic comedy anime is much more enjoyable to watch than most anime that currently exist in this growing industry. And I'm not just saying that because it doesn't have any fanservice, but because it deals with much more serious topics than the typical middle school or high school teen themes. Starting by focusing on the theme of marriage, we see how the characters learn facts or details about this commitment that they will try to emulate in their daily lives in the public eye, even though none of this is real. But, what they focus on the most is how both characters see this topic of marriage with their own eyes and their own experience. Without a doubt, this anime is perfect for any fan looking for something different, fun, yet relaxing to watch.

Si bien no es de mis favoritos, este anime de comedia romántica es mucho más agradable de ver que la mayoría de animes que actualmente existen en esta creciente industria. Empezando por centrarse en el tema del matrimonio, vemos cómo los personajes van conociendo datos o detalles sobre este compromiso que intentarán emular en sus vidas diarias a la vista del público, a pesar de que nada de esto sea real. Both are the same in these aspects, which surely make them the perfect couple in the eyes of many as they are similar in many ways. But something I like about this anime is the way we get to know each character little by little, noticing differences between them. For example, Takuya Ohara is a shy and unsociable young man who doesn't seem to have enough confidence to openly say what he feels or stand up for himself, which makes him always opt for the fast track of escaping from problems or doing practically nothing at all. On the other hand, Rika Honjoji, is also a shy and not very expressive and sociable woman who loves to be alone with her particular hobbies and pastimes, something that has made her live in solitude most of her life.
Now, having these two very particular characters in mind to be an engaged couple in a society of a country like Japan, it is evident that the issue of appearing to be "the perfect couple" is a mission that will be almost impossible for them to fulfill. With so many different traditions, opinions and beliefs about friendships, couples and even more marriages, it is normal that we see in this anime the two sides of this important commitment. But what also stands out the most are those problems we will see this couple face from the beginning due to misunderstandings, poor communication between them and mistrust between them and each other. We will also see cases of coworkers of this couple that will give us clear examples of marriages or love relationships that do not always end well, either for X or Y reasons. The lessons we learn in this anime are more valuable than the entertaining and funny moments it has. Undoubtedly, it is an anime very different from any teen RomCom.

With a good character design, an enjoyable drawing style, a clear and vivid color palette, a good balance of lights and shadows; this anime manages to set the scene very well the life of a couple of shy and unsociable office workers. The use of practical effects and good details for a nice flow is noteworthy, since most anime sometimes exaggerate with fixed shots and frames with images with little movement. Another detail to highlight can be the landscapes or views that this anime gives us, which are very well done as well. The use of sound effects is not so remarkable in this anime, unlike the soundtrack that manages to set very well the important moments of each chapter, as well as its funny moments. All in all, this anime is perfect for any "Slice of Life" fan looking for something different from the typical seasonal RomComs.
Personally, I give it a 7.5/10 rating as far as the romantic comedy genre is concerned.

Solo es un anime tranquilo, relajante y a la vez divertido de ver.

Con un buen diseño de personajes, un disfrutable estilo de dibujo, una paleta de colores claros y vivos, un buen balance de luces y sombras; este anime consigue ambientar muy bien la vida de una pareja de oficinistas tímidos y poco sociables. El uso de efectos prácticos y buenos detalles para una fluidez agradable es de destacar, ya que la mayoría de animes a veces exageran con los planos fijos y frames con imágenes con poco movimiento. Otro detalle a destacar puede ser el de los paisajes o vistas que nos da este anime, lo cual están muy bien hechos también. El uso de efectos de sonido no es tan destacable en este anime, a diferencia de la banda sonora que consigue ambientar muy bien los momentos importantes de cada capítulo, así como también sus momentos divertidos. En resumen, este anime es perfecto para todo fanático del “Slice of Life” que busca algo diferente a los típicos RomComs de la temporada.
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 7.5/10 en lo que respecta al género de comedia romántica.
