My new track "El Condor Pasa" on Spotify

Those who follow me knows I've started making and playing bamboo flutes two years ago. I've learned to play the Native American Flute (NAF), the Quena, the Quenacho and the Zampoña. One of the songs I've always wanted to play is "El Condor Pasa" made popular in the English world by Simon and Garfunkel with their version "El Condor Pasa (If I could)".

One thing I didn't know until I started to listen around for the Andean version is that the S&G version only used a section of the actual song. In the Andean version, the song changes rhythm and mood, it becomes faster and happier as you reach the end.

With a Chilean friend of mine, we recorded our version of "El Condor Pasa" with Andean instruments including:

• Charango (like a small Ukulele)
• Zampoña (pan flute)
• Quena (rim-blown flute)
• Bombo (drum)
