Hi dear Hive community,

We started from Hampi and passed Virupaksha temple. There we took left and reached ancient path next to the river bank, which was build to connect temples in different areas.

The area supposed to be inhabited around 500 years ago, from where they assume the carvings and temples are. However, to us it appears much much older. In this area many stories and ancient legends from gods like Rama, Sita, Hanuman and Ravana, were happening. This ancient text were old almost a million of years, and yet we still can see so many small details confirming the stories.

It was time of Hanuman birthday so we were lucky to met two local people dressed up as monkey god Hanuman. For small donation they were painting children's faces and this way celebrated this holy time.

Our #Wednesdaywalk once again included many ancient temples in the area. However, sometimes it's nicer to go off the mainstream paths and discover more unknown areas. We were so happy to explore and walk around the rocky side of the river where we saw many many carvings in the gigantic rocks. Each of the carving mainly included different gods. History of this area is really remarkable and this rocks will definitely stay there and be visited and admired long into the future.

On the way we discovered a very big banjon tree which had many pieces of clothing tied to it's branches. It is believed that it's a wish tree, which fulfils every desire you have, if you thigh a small stone to it. Once the wish comes true, the rock untie and relieves the giant tree.

When we were walking back towards our exit point, there were even remaining of the old bridge which was made of big granit pillars. All is build by a hard granit rock, which is really unbelievable. This type of rock is hard to work with, and yet they still manage it.

Before going home, we took some new fruit to us called starfruit. It was tasting refreshing and sour-sweet.

This is our last post from Hampi, which we really enjoyed probably the most during our Indian trip so far. If you are like us and hungry for some historical sightseeing, it's a must visit place in Karnataka state in India.
