The city was still in a state of slumber when I set foot out onto Edsa-Aurora. A cool breeze, carrying the promise of dawn, gently touched my skin. The soft glow of streetlights still illuminated the city landscape.
As I wore my HammerHead jacket to make myself warmer, the world began to stir as the once sleepy city is coming back to life as the streets are being filled with moving vehicles as well as bikers, pedestrians and sweepers that pass by the bike lanes and sidewalks.
The walk to Araneta Center was a brief escape as well as a nice form of workout. The rhythmic sound of my shoes on the pavement was a steady beat in the quiet morning. Sari-sari stores lit up one by one, their warm glow inviting.
The smell of breakfast filled the air, which made me think of home as I smelled the mouthwatering aroma of dried fish being tossed on a frying pan, promising a delicious start to the day.
The city skyline began to unfurl with the first hues of dawn painted into it. I saw people rushing out, and their infectious energy filled the atmosphere.
The bus ride was a brief respite. I watched as the city transformed, bathed in the golden light of sunrise. At Starmall Shaw, I stepped out into the bustling morning. The sun was now high in the sky, casting a warm glow on the city.
I was almost there when I realized I'd gone too far. The imposing gates of Wack Wack Golf and Country Club stood before me.
Feeling a little lost, I asked a guard for directions. Luckily, he knew where I was going. With his guidance, I retraced my steps, and the morning sun is now in full force.
Finally, I made it to the agency's headquarters, which is located in Mandaluyong, the Philippines' "tiger city"! I'm ready to tackle the day after an eventful start to the day. Discover what awaits you on your Wednesday stroll.
I want to thank @tatoodjay for the hosting Wednesday Walk! I'm eager to interact with everyone. Have a nice day!
