Mandatory medical checkups: Good or bad?

in Hive Learners17 days ago

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Our physical health and mental health are two of the most important things that should be taken seriously and always brought into consideration before we make certain choices or decisions, but down here it is not so, as the reverse is the case; down here our physical health and especially mental health are the least things that we actually care about. Down here we care about making ends meet more than our health and forget that without sound health we cannot make ends meet; we tend to forget that whoever is bedridden cannot actually make ends meet, which makes taking our health seriously very important.

Down here one has to break down before they actually think about going to the hospital; for some people, they actually have to break down multiple times before they actually accept to visit the hospital. They are never convinced by the signs and symptoms as they wait to break down before they do what is needed or expected of them. It is only a few people that have taken it upon themselves to ensure that they and their loved ones go for medical checkups from time to time, which is good, and it is a habit everyone has to adopt and practice in order to make sure they are sound physically and mentally.

Going for medical checkup from time to time is of great importance and the importance of making this a habit cannot be overemphasized because of the benefits that comes with it, when we go for medical checkups a disease can be spotted at an early stage and it is no news that it is easier to fight a disease at an early stage before it becomes chronic or has eaten deep but many individuals wait until the disease has broken them down countless times before they rush to the hospital expecting the doctors and nurses to do a miracle.

Will it be good to make medical checkups mandatory?

My answer to this question will be a bold yes, if it is not made mandatory then there are so many people who will continue to move around caring less about their health while the disease eats deep and waiting for the right time to strike and get them broken down but if medical checkup is made mandatory we the news of people slumping and dying will reduce drastically because this medical checkup will help people and those around them know their health status as well as their blood pressure that way they know the amount of pressure they can handle but without the knowledge of this you just put it to them as it is and you come to realise they could not take it and it results to slumping.

How will making checkups mandatory affect everyone?

Source

It is definitely going to be a positive effect; everyone gets to know their health status as well as that of their loved ones and knows how to treat each other. The only negative effect that will come with making medical checkups mandatory is the effect it will have on the finances of the people, but before the government passes such a rule making medical checkups mandatory, they must cut down the cost of doing so, making it cheap for the masses.

The effect will be positive but you know most times we humans fight what's not convenient for us, many see it as helping the hospital make more funds when they visit than helping themselves why they forget that without the good health making money won't be so realistic

People will always see things from different angles, sometimes they end up seeing a blessing as a curse.

Seeking professional help when the symptoms are visible/not livable can save us later.

You did the right thing. Take care.

Our country only go to the hospital for checkup and treatment when the sickness is no longer manageable, if the government could make this decision it would be of great to millions of people.

It will as well help save lives, and prevent diseases from escalating.
