Perhaps it all started out a little disbelieved, with the famous digital “money” that nobody really understood what it was or what it could become in the future. And today, it's worth trillions of dollars, all thanks to Bitcoin, which gave rise to what we know. We can't deny that, even though it was underestimated at first, digital money is becoming increasingly popular, as are cryptocurrencies. Faced with this scenario in which humanity is moving towards a new form of transactions, payments and commerce, the question arises: can the world function solely with cryptocurrencies?

I believe we are moving towards that. When was the last time you used paper money to make a purchase? Almost everything is digital now, including money, and the evolution of technology is making this possible. But we still have to deal with the use of state money, which hardly controls inflation and every day reduces people's purchasing power due to the unbridled printing of more money. Cryptocurrencies could be a solution to this financial problem, especially when we look at Bitcoin, with its limited issuance and ever-increasing demand.

However, when we analyze the use of cryptos with the aspects that traditional money should have, there are still challenges, especially in relation to price fluctuations and high fees. Of course, there are initiatives to mitigate this, but we are still a long way from achieving the efficiency that money should have, especially in everyday transactions. Not that it doesn't happen today, but there is a lack of greater adoption, which I believe is only a matter of time, considering the exponential growth of this market.

But, looking beyond Bitcoin, would any crypto be efficient enough to become the main currency of a country or even the world? Not yet. There are many usability barriers that don't reach everyone. However, as each generation becomes more immersed in this new technological universe, I repeat: it will only be a matter of time.

In addition to mass adoption, another major challenge lies ahead: banks. We know that these institutions have a lot of clout, and crypto regulations will face their biggest obstacle in this scenario. Of course, people can use their cryptocurrencies more freely today - after all, I believe that is the main philosophy of cryptos, to break the chains imposed by banks and governments. But for mass adoption to happen, this barrier needs to be overcome.

The big question in all of this is just time. When not only the committed people who understand the power of freedom that cryptocurrencies provide, but everyone in the world realizes this, there will be no government or large institutions that can hold back this revolution. When the whole world adopts a new form of finance that is free, things will be different. But until then, just hold on to your cryptos.

Sabemos que essas instituições possuem grande poder de influência, e as regulamentações sobre cripto enfrentarão seu maior obstáculo nesse cenário. Claro, as pessoas podem usar suas criptomoedas hoje de forma mais livre, afinal, acredito que essa seja a principal filosofia das criptos, quebrar as correntes impostas pelos bancos e governos. Mas, para que uma adoção em massa aconteça, essa barreira precisa ser superada.

A grande questão de tudo isso é apenas o tempo.
