This is year is indeed an unusual one, it began with my NYSC service and I kept drifting further and further away from home till it felt like coming home might never be an option. Judging from my previous holidays everything is a lot simple, all I have to do is set a date and outline how I wish to spend my holiday. It has always been with family, I mean for a person like me holiday doesn't feel the same without spending time with my family, I guess I'm a creature of habit. This custom of mine have made my holiday plans a lot simpler, all I have to do is wait for the right time to go home, from there I go with the flow and see where it leads.
It might not sound like much but I have always had a bit of control of when my holiday will began but this time things took an unusual turn. For a start, few weeks before the end of last month I got really sick, I kept getting better and worse simultaneously. Seeing the situation of things my plan was to go home but I know I can't just do that, As a corp member I have to first seek permission from my LGI before I can be allowed to leave, moreover I knew he wouldn't want to approve because the monthly biometric clearance for December was approaching and he wouldn't want me to miss that.
The most worrisome aspect of it was that the village I was posted is not a kind of place I can just leave and decide to go Lagos, then when it is time for December biometric clearance I will just board a bus and start rushing back, that is not even an option because the cost of transportation to and fro will cost me about $26, the cost is not even the main issue. I have a very low tolerance for long travels, in this case I have to sit in a bus for at least 4 hours then another 2 hours, if I'm going to add it all together from my PPA in Oyo state to Lagos state, it will be around 8 hrs and then I have to consider rushing back for December biometric clearance, base on my current health it felt like suicide.
I decided to wait it out and I kept praying for better health, lucky for me December biometric clearance was on the 2nd, I have gotten a lot better but I was still having some health challenges so I came back to Lagos on the 3rd. Though my school is yet to vacate, we were still in the middle of first term examination but my colleagues were aware of my health condition including my employer, so no one questioned my decision when I left. The funny aspect was that I had planned for a trip for the first two weeks of this month but it didn't work out has planned. It seems the Lord wants me to spend longer time with my family and recover fully.
I'm currently at home in Lagos which means my holiday already begun, it wasn't by my design, I would have loved to wait till vacation but other forces were at play. My holiday narration is already spelt out, I'm going to spend it with my family away from work and friends, more like a self recovery holiday and I need all the lone time I can get before our extended families start arriving, it is still too early for now but everything will change starting from next week. I'm just glad that I get to be home this early for all the buzz began. The only thing that might seem like work I might be doing during this period of time is keeping a closer eye to my hive activities, work has really prevented me from engaging in some hive activities I used to love but then I don't regard my hive activities as work, more like an hobby.

I'm envying you right now; I feel mine should start earlier like yours too.
Self-discovery is a good one to achieve this holiday, and spending it with friends and family is the best.
I like your plans👏👏
Well mine is more like self recovery not discovery.
Moreover my holiday started early due to health challenges.
I appreciate the support 🤗
My pleasure
