Facing my fears!

in Hive Learners5 months ago (edited)

Animals can be so crazy at times, that you just remain scared anytime you see them. Killing a snake might seem easy when it's a small one. But killing a bigger-sized animal might make you so afraid.

And sometimes we grow older to overcome some of these scary animals. I remember there were times when I was always scared of cockroaches. As little kids then, it was so frightening to even touch cockroaches. But as I got older at some point in my life, I finally overcame that phobia.

At some stage too I was scared of holding chicken. Especially those mother hens with chicks, the way they attack anyone that tries to pick their chicks. I know they don’t have teeth but the way they would use their beaks to attack is what gets one scared. That went on for years. And some day I got the trick to their attacks. Since then I wasn’t scared of them anymore.

There were also times when I was so afraid of dogs. Dogs are crazy animals due to their security purpose and they are so friendly too when you are their owner. I have always found it difficult to enter houses with dogs after my crazy experience with some of them.

There was a time when I was sent on an errand with my younger sister. We got into an interesting gist and were playful about it not until my sister ran into someone's compound which was already demarcated with stones and flowers.

As she ran in, we were unaware of the dogs, not until they came out of their hiding. It was a mother dog with puppies. The puppies ran after my sister, and the mother dog pursued me. I ran as fast as my legs could. The dog got closer and then bit me. I fell and injured my arms. Then I heard the owner call it back. But I was still scared.

I even forgot I was going with my sister, she already got home before me. When I got home then I realized the dog already bit me. Then at some point, I got over my fear of dogs. But not when it comes to the bigger breeds and some of the foreign breeds too. Those are natural even from their appearance alone.

I also have some fear of bigger snakes. And some other animals in the wild. I remember a time when I went to a zoo and saw some wild animals caged. These animals looked so scary even when they were under restriction.

Barely looking at the height of a lion and its bravery got my body moving. I also saw a cheater and a leopard too. Those animals are scary looking at them alone, not thinking of having a face to face experience with them in the wild.

This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in hive learners community for the Week 122 Edition 3 and the topic to be discussed is A SCARY ANIMAL
