Cherish the moment not the cup

My favourite coffee cup is any cup that I'm holding in my hand that contains 100% freshly brewed coffee. I particularly like to use a cup that has a message on it. Messages of inspiration, sarcasm, or plain horseshit make it even more delightful, as I take moments to process and sometimes embody the message on the cup.

This one encapsulates my approach to life, which is to make hay while the sun shines.

I believe in getting up and getting on with the things that I need to do while I'm fully able to do them. Also, to do the best that I can in whatever life presents to me.

Too often we feel sorry for ourselves, which is often a result of us comparing ourselves to others, thinking that the other person has life easier than we do, instead of taking the time to evaluate our actions and our priorities.

No matter how wonderful someone's life might seem, everyone has challenges, big or small, and it's up to the individual to take ownership with the necessary steps to overcome them.

Christmas is my least favourite time of the year. There's greed, expectancy, self-absorption, and hypocrisy, camouflaged as 'giving' and 'caring', and the worst in people comes out during this so-called festive time of the year. People live above their means foolishly, collecting unnecessary items such as seasonal coffee cups, gadgets, and more just because.

Another reason why my favourite coffee cup is any that I'm holding in my hands that contains 100% freshly brewed coffee is because I strive to not have an attachment to anything and instead to be mindful and grateful that I can drink a cup of coffee when I can, while many are not able.

A cup at the moment is preferred, so if it smashes, I can simply clear the mess and move on to another without much thought or feelings of loss. Another of my approaches to life is not crying over spilt milk.

Also, being a minimalist, I don't place much importance on tangible things that are easily replaceable. I'm always on the move and ever-changing, and the last thing I want to be concerned about is whether a blinking coffee cup remains intact, and more on cherishing the moment and being appreciative of enjoying coffee, which is essentially a daily luxury.

Still, don't you think messages on coffee cups are great mantras and inspirations and make sense, since it's something that we see first thing in the morning?

Peace and love,

The Coffee Goddess ☕️

Think this is my new favorite mug on the boat

I can see why... It's a lovely design. They captured the colours so well:)

as much as I love the practicality of the stanley cups on the boat I think this is my new brekkie coffee mug😃

Absolutely! You gonna be seen drinking coffee from that cup while driving the boat:)

I love coffee cup messages! The one that sits empty before me now is "Panda Life". I started the book I'm working on from it. :D I have one that says be brave, one that says strange and unusual at my mum's house. I embody them as I sip from them, but I think it's also a matter of how you resonate with life. I think for some, they don't mean shit. I think there's a lot of people who hold on to feeling bad, or who refuse to know it's up to them how they meet the day (and that you should really take any help you can, even if it comes by way of funny/inspirational/snarky coffee cup).

and the last thing I want to be concerned about is whether a blinking coffee cup remains intact, and more on cherishing the moment and being appreciative of enjoying coffee, which is essentially a daily luxury.

100%! I'm always wary of gifting stuff that can break like that. It seems like a burden. Like you have to be guarding and cherishing the object more than the intention behind it. Stuff to remember around the festive season, eh? I think good things can come out sometimes around the holidays, too, but again, it depends on how you go.

The people who turn into greedy or "virtuously giving" bastards are probably just bastards without a cap on the rest of the year.

"Panda Life"

strange and unusual

Wow! I like those! That panda life is something so deep and food for thought.

I think there are a lot of people who hold on to feeling bad, or who refuse to know it's up to them how they meet the day (and that you should take any help you can, even if it comes by way of funny/inspirational/snarky coffee cup).

100% inspiration depends on one's vantage point which only requires a shift of focus.

Yeah, I hate receiving glass gifts unless there's a message or something that resonates or makes me think of the person.

I was in the town purchasing essentials yesterday just observing the cow-like mentality of people towards each other while buying gifts.😏

That's a lovely mug.

...and I love you Grinch--pajamas?

This totally got me. Life has taught me a couple of lessons lately. I live in a small apartment now and the experience of getting rid of so much stuff at different levels has been exhilarating. Even my feet feel lighter now, so I think I understand what you say better than I would have three months ago.

I think so, when you find your messages right, or the right messages find you, hehe.

Nice post, dear @millycf1976 ✨☕✨

Thank you 😍

Oh, that must be life-changing. I hope the move wasn't too stressful. Moving house is something I dislike as it's so chaotic and demanding.

Have a lovely week ahead:)))

Hello friend

I partly agree with you, that any mug will be special at the right time.

This year has been a very strong year and after the death of my daughter, I treasure the mug that was given to me a week before her death. I became a little nostalgic with the cup and all the things I received from it, which now causes me dread if it breaks or something happens to it, I pray to God that this does not happen.

I will tell this story in my next post.

Thank you for sharing your experience 🙌🙌🙌

I'm sorry to hear of your daughter. I knew there was a loss in your family but I never realised how close the relationship was. I hope that you're doing better, and I understand how sentimental that mug must be to you.
I pray you'll never lose it. 😍🤗

I have three coffee cups, on rotation, so there's always a clean one when you need it. I care about them because they meant something for me at the time I got them. I'd be sad to break any of them, but then I'd have other two waiting to be used. I do not approve of seasonal mugs. What's the point of using a Santa mug in April? That's a waste of money.
Someone recently gave me a set of three very cute cups, only they're too small for coffee or tea. What am I to do with them? They're just sitting on the kitchen counter, being cute, but that's all. Cute crap sold for the holiday season...
Also, for the record, when I need coffee, I'll drink it out of anything...

I'd be sad for you if one of those sentimental cups broke, but at least you have the other 2 waiting, indeed 😁

That made me chuckle!

Yeah, it was probably more about ticking off on the giver's list than the value of the gift to you.

For the record, when I need coffee, I'll drink it out of anything...

💯

I really liked the message on your mug, there are two dualities in the message: on one hand, bad times and on the other, optimism that no matter what happens, everything is in the mind and you can enjoy a rainy season. Of course, we can't forget the delicious coffee to cheer us up.☕

That grinch is fantastic for this Christmas season.🤭

Excellent day.

Thanks for stopping by and for reblogging the #STB Prompt:)))

Greetings friend, having mugs with phrases is very interesting and at the same time unique, since they allow you to read it over and over again with every sip of coffee. I have several of them at home and they are very beautiful. Furthermore, the important thing about the cups is that they are always full and used correctly, to prevent them from breaking and to enjoy as much coffee as possible. It's a pleasure to read you and you have to love these Christmas dates, since they are unique and only happen once.

Hey David,

Happy Holidays and I hope you'll have a Coffee-Licious Christmas from a different of your favourite cup daily:)

I particularly like to use a cup that has a message on it

I totally resonate with what you're saying here. Back home I have a coffee cup that's outright, for lack of a better word, FUGLY! Yet, everytime I am visiting home, I will always use that cup. My wife even asked why do I even bother with that cup!

It's the message, what it embodies for me.

 yesterday

So what's the message on the cup?

Are you gonna spill the beans about it, in at least 350 words?

I'm keen to hear more about that FUGLY cup 😁

Oh yeah, I am spilling the beans! 😉

Awesome

Greetings my beautiful, good message, we really live feeling sorry for ourselves and comparing ourselves with others. And we really let life go by without doing anything that leaves a good footprint. And it is very true what you say about attachments. I was like that. When a cup would break for me it was the worst, until I let go of those attachments. Everything comes and goes so you just have to live to the fullest. A big hug

You've said that so well!

When a cup would break for me it was the worst

I'm glad you got over that. My mum was and still is the same about having an attachment to material things, and god forbid if you broke an item.
I took note of that when I was a little girl and I try to have a different outlook:)

I love mugs with motivational phrases on them, even more so when it's raining. The holiday season is like having a screw in your shoe: painful and also expensive. I don't celebrate it with extravagance. By the way, how great that you have coffee cups with sarcastic messages... nothing better than drinking coffee while contemplating the majesty of the cup.

Minimalism is wonderful... I think it reduces stress and worries a lot. With coffee, minimalism is even better XD.

Greetings!

Yes, there's always a smug look on my face when drinking from a mug with a sarcastic message.

Happy Monday!

Now, definitely the Christmas message and the sweater made a perfect mix of your thoughts and I respect everyone's opinion very much, that's what really makes us different and free.
RegardsVery assertive post @millycf1976 friend, what really adds importance to the mugs is the content that accompanies them. Although it's not bad to also focus on accompanying it with some message that inspires you to have a day full of many opportunities and optimism.

I'm pleased you enjoyed reading this and thanks for stopping by:)

I think these coffee cup messages could be your mantra for the day 😅 That's why I also love it, along with a cute or nice illustration.
Love your smile holding that cup!
