Last Day
For one last day, I will let this beauty absorb more sunlight.
I will harvest the upper 2/3 of that plant tonight. (maybe more, maybe all)
The tiny, lower buds may benefit from a few more days of growth.
For maximum yield, I could probably leave it a little longer...
16-day local forecast - sorry it's all in German
Weather
According to the latest forecast, we have cloudy and rainy days ahead of us the next 4 days.
I don't think there is much to be gained and a lot to lose;
Rain results in higher humidity, coupled with lower temperatures (even higher relative humidity), this could lead to mold and fungal disease.
This is the last thing that could affect my harvest - certainly more than a few more days of sun.
However, the drop in temperature might lead to a more desirable cannabinoid profile.
I will harvest 'plant no.2' in a week or later and see how that affects it.
Foxtail
The plant is 'foxtailing'.
For breeders, this is not desirable. It affects the 'bag appeal' mostly.
Also, denser buds have fewer spots, where mold and other fungi could appear, too.
It does not decrease total yield or potency.
As I understand it, that's purely genetic.
I have good things to say about this variety (Quick One), but the foxtails are a bit disapointing.
The other plant does not seem to do it. So much for uniformity...
Final Thoughts
So far, this was easy.
Plant seed, water whenever needed and make sure to get as much sunlight as possible.
A little disease/pest control... But I have plans to make this even easier...
For a ~10€ seed - and no further cost - the yield looks absolutely worth it.
There is a lot I can improve, and I will try my best next season.
This clearly won't be the strongest, most potent flower. But that's ok.
So far this exceeds my expectations and all I can hope for is that it dries well.
nice plant you did a good job ✌
Wait for that other plant, grown from your stuff...
I'll tag you 😉
Im going back to do a recap, and looking at your plant I am really amazed. It looks so good!
Hope your first outdoor grow turns out well.
I'm gonna wait a lot longer. Probably sometime in October for me.
Thanks!
Today, I can confidently say, that it did work out well.
The first (albeit small) harvest is done and secure. No signs of mould.
Same with my photoperiodic plant.
It's only starting to flower now. Takes at least 4 weeks more, probably much longer.
Que viva la marihuana!!
