Diwali is coming and I can't keep calm about it!
Diwali is my favourite festival, I love it like crazy. Why?
- There are lights all around.
- The market places homes are decorated with vibrant colour decors.
- You get to meet friends and family
- You give and get gifts
- Good food to eat
- New clothes
- Days of fun and shopping
Last year, at the time of Diwali, Raag was just 28 days old and because if had a c-sec, I was still recovering. So we could not do much on Diwali. Plus there was Corona, how can we forget that.
But this year, I have plans to celebrate Diwali properly, ensuring all the 7 points I mentioned above are well-considered and covered.
I went for Diwali shopping yesterday at Sadar bazaar. Ok so first let me introduce Sadar bazaar to those who don't know about it. It's a very famous wholesale market in Delhi where you can find anything and everything you can think of. It was small, lean lanes. Shops are the size of a box, literally a box, but they would have items you can't even think of. All the retailers do their shopping from Sadar and then sell it off to customers. It's not easy to visit that place especially on the festive days because of the huge crowd it attracts. But I wanted to buy a lot of stuff for myself and my sister so chose to go.
Here's a sneak peak at my Diwali shopping.
Lights
Candles
Rangoli Colors
House decor
I wanted to buy more and more but with 2 hands, I could not lift anymore so restricted myself to this much.
Next, I plan to get the lights installed today. Rest of the decor including rangoli and candles and diya lightening will happen on the day of Diwali itself.
I'm excited, are you?
I thought Diwali was a few months ago… that’s probably everyone just shares their pictures all year cause they are fun.
Haha, no no, it’s in the coming week.
