OBJECTIVE OF FIRST AID

1. To save life.
2. To arrest bleeding.
3. To promote recovery.
4. To prevent an injury or condition from becoming worse.
5. To prepare a casualty for medical attention.
6. To reduce or relieve pains as far as possible.

QUALITIES OF A GOOD FIRST AIDER

1. He or she must be physically fit.
2. A first aider should be bold at the sight of blood.
3. A first aider must be tactful and act calmly and confidently.
4. He or she should be resourceful.
5. He or she must be reliable
6. He or she must be fast in thinking
7. He must be knowledgeable about First Aid, anatomy and physiology.
8. A first aider should be good in reassuring the victim.
9. A First aider should not be a Carrier of disease germs.
10. He or she shouldn't embarrass or cause any unnecessary alarms for his patients.
